@ghrit Cool! Thanks... I've been looking at stabilizing my own woods... may use the funds from the strikers to defray the cost of that :0)
Got some curly koa wood that I have been collecting over the years... as well as some yew burl that I'd really like to stabilize and use for projects... guess I could also just send it out to be professionally stabilized :0)

 

We have exotics here. Local dealer. Just need to see if he can get it. Same source as my purple heart.

@melbo Should be great fun... I remember teaching my little one (who is not so little anymore :0) how to do it...
Remember to make sure you stress safety... don't want a tiny flake on her fingers and then have her rub her eyes.... :0(

All the kits (with the extra goodies) are ready to go out tomorrow morning :0)

The caked carboned punk experiment is coming along. I need to figure out a way to process it in a larger batch and hope it all holds together.

If the napping does not slow me down I may have a plan and process.

Got a great spark right at the mailbox. Kids will be in tonight and we'll show them how the west was won with Hawaiians’ striker set.
I’ll see how long I can play out the Lava Flint story. After all isn’t that what lights off the Volcanoes?
Pele will be mad if I don’t play this right!

 

Hoping mine shows up tomorrow. Looking forward to making sure I can still do it and then showing the kids.

 

Wow...Just got my strikers in the mail this afternoon.They are unbelievable,and the extra goodies are just fantastic! @Bear,your level of craftsmanship is off the charts and is something rarely seen these days! Already used my special one to start a fire and that was a great experience. Anyone who didn't get one is really missing out on something great. If I can learn how to upload some pictures of this cool stuff, I will post them. Thanks Bear, you went well above and beyond your "call of duty!"
