This is good but it seems it is what he wants and he will be a martyr so life may have been better. Death for Snowden and Bradley Manning....eeeerrr Chelsea Manning for treason would send a few much needed messages. That is hope and change I can support. ......................................................................................................................... A military jury sentenced Maj. Nidal Hasan to death on Wednesday for the 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, giving the Army psychiatrist what he believed would be a path to martyrdom in the attack on unarmed fellow soldiers. The American-born Muslim, who has said he acted to protect Islamic insurgents abroad from American aggression, never denied being the gunman. In opening statements, he acknowledged to the jury that he pulled the trigger in a crowded waiting room where troops were getting final medical checkups before deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. The same jurors who convicted Hasan last week had just two options: either agree unanimously that Hasan should die or watch the 42-year-old get an automatic sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole.
In my book, a dead martyr is just fine.... better than him living in a cell sucking our air and wasting our tax dollars. He killed innocents.... justice will be served on his soul (or lack thereof). Just for good measure, we can dump some pig entrails into the casket..... keep him company in the after-life
If I thought for an instant that sentence would be carried out in under a year, I'd pay to wrap his carcass in bacon before pine box insertion.
Put his execution on Pay-per-View. on second thought, let play out "live" for free. Cut his head off with a dull rusty knife like the mooslems did to that journalist a few years ago.
Just throw him in pork feed lot, he will emerge from several pigs in a few hours. The 40 virgins may not like the smell.
Thinking a pig blood soaked short rope and a long drop--done publicly---then let his carcus rot while swinging.
Unfortunately, it's not going to be swift. Automatic appeal process He could be there for decades. Plenty of those on automatic repeals on death row in Leavenworth already. They could always put him into general population.
Getting pigs blood alone on them will defile them. People talk about dipping their bullets in pig blood, just to be sure.
A dry shave with a dull blade would be in order or a very sharp blade with an epileptic barber.. .......................................................................................................................... FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) — The Army psychiatrist sentenced to death for the Fort Hood shooting rampage has been forcibly shaved, an Army spokesman said Tuesday. Maj. Nidal Hasan began growing a beard in the years after the November 2009 shooting that left 13 dead and 30 wounded. The beard prompted delays to his court-martial because it violated Army grooming regulations. He was convicted of all charges last month at his court-martial at the Central Texas Army post and sentenced to death. Now, Hasan is an inmate at the U.S. Detention Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., home to the military death row. Lt. Col. S. Justin Platt, an Army spokesman, said in a statement Tuesday that Hasan had been shaved. He did not specify when or provide details, however. Officials at Fort Leavenworth previously had said Hasan would be subject to Army regulations. Hasan dispensed with all criminal defense counsel and represented himself during his trial. A message left with John Galligan, Hasan's first criminal defense attorney who still represents him in civil matters, was not returned. Hasan said he grew the beard because his Muslim faith required it and was not meant as a show of disrespect. However, Col. Gregory Gross, the original judge presiding over Hasan's court-martial, ordered Hasan to be clean-shaven or be forcibly shaved before his trial. The dispute over that decision led to appeals that delayed the trial by more than three months before the appeals court ousted the judge. The appeals court ruled that Gross did not appear impartial while presiding over Hasan's case and that the command, not a judge, is responsible for enforcing military grooming standards. Col. Tara Osborn, assigned to replace Gross as the judge presiding over the case, allowed Hasan to keep the beard for the course of the trial last month. However, she warned that although she would not hold the breach of grooming regulations against the 42-year-old American-born Muslim, the military jurors might.
The news is saying he is filing a lawsuit for making him follow uniform regulations. He says it is a violation of his first amendment rights to force him to shave. With luck this guy will end up like the turd in Ohio.
I have decided to greatly hold most of my comments. In my opinion this whole incident has been bungled on so many levels since well prior to pulling the trigger on his first victim. #1 An army base that fears arming their people here in the USA is a freakin' JOKE. (The only thing worse in my opinion was removing the Marines bolts from their rifles in the inaugural parade). #2 That an Officer should rise to the rank of Major with no one writing his fitness evaluation having a clue what was going on in this individual's head is beyond belief. #3 That 13 should be killed and 30 plus be wounded before these "professional warriors" managed to get him disarmed and into custody is shameful. #4 That a military prisoner be allowed to violate Military Law in a Military Detainment Facility or Prison, (grow facial hair) is ridiculous. (6 strapping football linebacker sized MP's should have taken him a new bic plastic razor and nothing else and given him 15 minutes to pray for Allah's forgiveness and to comply.) If he failed to comply, he should have been subdued and secured and given one under duress. A Colonel or above, with a set of brass ones should witness this and give all the orders. #5 He should not have been given any type of special treatment in this entire affair. That he was found guilty of all charges and sentenced to death is of little comfort, because he has set precedent for the next religious fanatic across the board, and I doubt seriously very little has been done to solve the root problem. It can't be. It wouldn't be politically correct in todays environment. It's very shameful and sad really!
Just a NOTE Here... He is still under the jurisdiction of the UCMJ, and as such, he Waived his 1st Amendment Rights when he signed up. He will be in the Military, until 1 Second, after his DEATH. He can NOT claim otherwise, now that he has been convicted. He was stripped of his Rank, at Sentencing, and is basically now at a Recruit Status. I would Gladly pull the lever on the Trap Door, MYSELF, on this dude.....
BT has a very good point. Hasan gladly collected his military pay the whole time he was in jail so therefore by accepting the pay he was acknowledging that he was still a soldier.
Just to clarify you do not give up your first amendment or any other rights under the UCMJ. There are some tighter restrictions on how you exercise your rights, but they are not taken away. The courts have ruled consistently that the military must have a valid reason to restrict any rights, and the restrictions must be limited to that valid purpose. The requirement to shave and cut your hair have been through the courts and have been ruled valid. Knowing all that, I can't for the life of me figure out why they let him grow the beard in the first place. The first judge told him to shave and he was pulled off the case.
Probably correct. I had a long rant post here. I tried to delete it, but that doesn't work unless you post it first. So here is this. It says nothing offensive. Cheers folks.
