You have received a radio call from an associate in your community advising you that the .gov squad is doing house to house searches, 20 minutes out estimated, heading your general way to find hold-outs from mandatory relocation to camps- for your "safety". You have not been specifically targeted as a HVT, but they do have intelligence that there are people in the AO who have violated the relocation orders. They may stay in your AO as it is later in the day, so you need to anticipate at least overnight, but possible three days of BO, till they have moved out of the area. You can not leave by vehicle as most primary road ways are being monitored with checkpoints or roving patrols. In this scenario- what do you do with your dog or dog's? Many have said that they would take them along to help provide security for the family in an E&E BO. Others have said they will leave them behind... not sure how that would be possible as a dog will follow it's family most of the time unless it is a herd dog. Would a dog be a liability on a silent maneuver out of the area or a bonus..... how would you handle this? Curious what opinions there on this situation...... YD
the way I see it, in the scenario you present, the .gov troops would shoot the dog first thing so I would no more leave the dog than I would a crying child. The pup might pose a liability issue but who else on earth would defend you, their master and friend, without regard for their own life.
I have three dog; a weinerdog, a golden retriever, and Maggie. I'd probably put down the weinerdog and retriever but Maggie is a ghost; she is my eyes and ears.
I have three and I would probably have to put down the old boy as he is getting arthritic and would not be good for any distance.... The other two are the guard dogs... but they also make a racket at the slightest noise...which may not be an advantage when they start barking at noises... alerting to others who may otherwise walk on by, not knowing you are there. A bit of a moral dilemma.......
"Rover" and associated furry friends is the main reason why bugging out to anywhere is practically out of the question for us. I have eight large "rovers." Putting any of them down is out of the question. Trying to E&E with a pack of dogs is similarly out of the question. I don't have much in the way of alternatives.
Leave them in the house. When they start barking, the .gov is at the house. When they stop, the .gov is in the house.
BO is not an option unless Blackhawks are coming in. I'm taking the fight down the road before they get here. My dogs are my kids and anyone trying to hurt them will be dealt with with maximum prejudice!
LaJolie is coming with me. At the very least she will have to act as a decoy so that I may get in a couple of head shots before we both go down for good.
I try and work with my two as much as I can my oldest pit is funny he has got to the point now if someone walks by the road way he will stop and watch them and move place to place following them til they are gone (no bark just bite). I agree with Gator they coming with me the pit has done got old and a little fat like his master but we still got a couple good fights left in us. I would prob leave the Ol-Lady behind first lol. That is really sad but so true. Dog shootings are happening more and more. My dustmop is all bark but basically harmless. An open door would cause the pup to run outside and track us down. That could be an issue.
In your scenario, if I have to leave, because my home is no longer safe. I will just go to my BOL and stay there. The dogs come with us, they are a vital part of our bug out survival. All routes to our Bug Out Location are through sparsely inhabited desert. Our biggest concerns are the coyotes, both the four legged kind and the two. Without our BOV it is forty six miles of desert mountains. Then across the Colorado river and another ten miles or more, depending on which crossing we use. This will take days to accomplish, and there are caches along the way. As well as two pathetic excuses for boats berried in the desert close to the river. But either one will get us and our dogs across in safety. CT.
