15lbs of strawberries and 10lbs of grapes from the chineese fruit market for $1/lb into the freezer. Gonna make some wine.

 

Me, I put away $400 toward what I suspect will end up being a $500 SCS Pactor III modem.

In my case, I'm too old, fat, and lazy to even think about a BOL. Instead, I've got a bunker here on the property. For my wife and I, it's definitely a matter of bugging-in.

The modem will quadruple (maybe more) the speeds at which I can get digital message traffic out of, in to, and throughout the country, pre-SHTF, post-SHTF and well, right now.

I'm new here. But for those who know me from elswhere, I'm mostly known for providing digital messaging services for those who see the need for it. Anybody interested in these types of networks? They're free, don't necessarily require a license, and are already in place for you to use at no charge.

Questions and meaningful discussion welcomed.

I lucked into three boxes of Federal Fusion .308 180gr bonded soft point today.

One of my all time favorites! Never a FTF or MF and accurate. Worked great yesterday in my LR-308

 

small stuff. enough anti-static bags for all my radio/phones, batteries, and chargers. about 30 rechargable AA's and enough reclaimed solar cells for another small panel. Pulled apart that wheelchair motor I harvested and removed the electric brake, (found it to be a fairly strong electromagnet) and verified the motor is 12VT, very quiet and very strong. (might just be strong enough for that solar powered rail-riding buggy) Just have to see if that works out.

We're tearing down the barn here soon and moving out all the "hoarder" stuff that's been piled in there for the last 13 years....salvaged 3 old microwaves and when i told my brothers I was gonna use them as faraday cages they had blank looks on their faces...hehe

 

Magnatrons in those have other uses as well....

trying to swing a deal on 10 acres in sparsely populated area of Michigan, where my nearest neighbor is 1/2 a mile away and then the next one is 1.5 miles away. Great water, wild life, woods and pasture. Small lake 1/4 mile away with walleye, pike. Deer, Bear, Grouse and waterfowl. Less than 2 miles from the shore of one of the Great lakes.
