    I have used this setup around my camp for years.Not only will it wake the living dead but will scare the crap out of any intruder trying to sneek up on you.

    I could show you how to run the same trigger to a crossbow, mounted to the backside of a tree. in a survival situation, your alarm would tell you dinner has arrived.

    It would make a great Jack Link's beef jerky commercial- remember the ones with Sasquatch getting pranked..... I could see Sasquatch hit the trip wire, the air horn goes off and scares the berjesus out of him- next clip is @hidden211 flying thru the air.....[dancindevil]

    Here's a tripwire product I ran across a while back that seem like it could have multiple uses (emphasis on - use your imagination).


    Firequest 12 Gauge Security Control System - Includes Free Tripwire - HV005


    It's a solid block of aluminum (product picture only shows the cut-away view.... you can see a few people using the real thing in some Youtube videos) to which you can install a shotgun shell. Somebody hits the trip wire and it activates the spring loaded firing pin which shoots off the shotgun shell giving you an audible report (I assume you can get shotgun shell blanks for that purpose).

    It has a lot of potential with as you said "multiple uses" .... great post!! Pepper blast shells would be appropriate for trail security that you may want to defend/signal to trespassers....and then escalate the threat round closer to your AO (post shtf of course). Makes them think it may be better to go elsewhere...
