Having grown up in a family of bleating sheep, I am not surprised. There are many in this country who would welcome tanks on the streets and mandatory curfews year round if they thought it would protect them from boogie-men.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin
I see absolutely zero victory in the capture of this maggot kid or the death of his brother when I see the carnage inflicted on our civil liberties. I am floored by the people of this country. Plain floored!! If the founders could just come back to life for an hour. I fear this country is finished as we knew her. Locked down , locked out, locked up , silenced, watched, dictated to, spied on, ordered to comply, forced to submit, We cant even protest anymore. Im sick to my stomach today. My country has died and with it any hope for the world and free men.
Kingfish, couldn't have said it better myself. I fear for what the world will be in just three next couple years, let alone what the world will be for my children. Before my uncle passed away last December he said the same thing- he feared that as a nation our best days were behind us.
there's an aunt located in Canada crying "frame up" as well .... the boys are angels and everything is a lie .... momma was probably buzy doing her usual shoplifting gig .... guess that's how she supports herself since coming to the US ....
Kingfish, absolutely right but missing the most important point. All of that to thunderous applause. I can't find it now but there was a Yahoo! article talking about the financial toll of businesses that had to close for the day. The comments said it all. People blasting business owners for not sucking it up. A few people pointing out how insane it was to declare martial law, followed by many many more blasting them for even thinking such things are wrong. While trying to find the article I saw the headline of one talking about him being denied Miranda Rights. I refused to look. I guarantee there will be plenty of people backing up the government and saying those who believe in due process are just as bad as the terrorists themselves. Oh, did you know there was an earthquake in China? Over a hundred dead, thousands injured? Might have missed it on the news between updates on the suspect's condition, Neil Diamond, and bullet riddled boats. [/venting]
The little brother is in critical condition. Also, he's an enemy combatant, this will be interesting. Expect more media hype, more police state activity, more drama about victim's families, more Liberal zombies on television propping up tyranny. Less liberty to follow.
I turned off the news about 8 a.m. this morning. I was sickened. I was watching Fox news and they had a shrink on that was telling how we all could be suffering from a form of PTSD. Not only those at the race, or those that were locked in their home during the man hunt but also those that just witnessed everything on TV. Yes sir, we all could be suffering from PTSD and that is why they keep saying we caught him. that is why they keep showing the dancing and cheering in the streets because these images will help us heal. It was like this doctor was giving all Americans a pass to be traumatized. I reserve PTSD for soldiers or those on the front line of an incident but me sitting thousands of miles away.... no. Should I be psychologically traumatized by watching the news? I know the rant above is slightly off topic but it is like they want people to be traumatized, then they can drug them so they can't think. Every time I wrote to my Governor he responded with a blurb if I needed help with stress theater shooting it was available. These people are sneaky and I think they will not let this crisis go to waste.
Every serial killer who has ever been caught, EVER, has been described as a gentle person and wonderful angel by people who knew them......and were totally snowed by their act of innocense.
That's fine. But, every serial killer wasn't described to have been set up by the federal authorities who have been a part of their lives for years before the event in question, either.
By the barrel of a gun is what socialist do. They just want to live in "Liberaltopia". You can't believe anything they say.
Reminds me of the school system that brought in counselors to help kids through 8th grade deal with the trauma of seeing a 2nd grader chew a cookie in the shape of a gun during lunch hour
Bingo, good sir! When people ask me how I can possibly believe that our kind and benevolent dot gov would be behind such atrocities, I tell them to ask themselves one question: who stands to benefit? 99.9 percent of the time, you will have your answer.
Don't tell that 'psychiatrist' guy, but I am not traumatized by events in Boston, I am digusted. Though my friend who was one of the runners(and thankfully unhurt), their nerves are still quite frazzled. As to all the screwups who applaud the loss of liberty, I'd remind them that A: decisions based on emotional/knee jerk reactions are going to be crap, and B: about what the road to Hell is paved with.
