Nope this is our first time with a mushroom kit, we have bolete/porcini and morel mushrooms growing wild on our property so never really bothered with other kinds.

Welcome. We're gonna order plug spawn from them sometime soon, we need to hurry on that or it'll be too late for this year. Here's a picture of our oyster mushroom kit as of this morning(shrooms already a little bigger). We got the kit at the local feed store, by some company called Back To The Roots. They sell mini-aquaponics kits too. Really mini, as in goldfish bowl size for the fish tank.

haven't been able to find .22's locally, but I did find two boxes of .12ga rifled slugs. at nearly a dollar a shot. (30 rounds)
My batteries have arrived for my nextels, and i find the supplier lied. These are used, not new. So I now have (35) used nextel batteries, but at least I'm not paying for them. contacted seller, and told him to supply what was offered, or refund my payment. got my money back, and bought the ammo. Now to charge them, and see what I have.

i believe that is one of them syrup pots...

They are often used as fountains now adays ...

Also i no people who put them over a fire and get the water boiling hot ...
Then u dunk your pig in it and scorch it ... this makes removing the hair easy ...

Can also make one hell of a Jambalia pot ...

Im wondering how do u plan on plugging the hole in the bottom ??

So I have been putting away canned chicken, dried soup mix, beans, coffee etc. I wanted to see if there was a noticeable difference between the Swanson's chicken and the cheapest generic walmart brand. So i opened a can of each. Drained weight was within 3grams of each other, appearance, smell, consistency, flavor, texture, and the size of the chunks was, by my non-scientific observation, identical. I could not tell any difference and they could have come out of the same canning plant for all I could tell. So I will be buying exclusively generic brands and saving about 60-80 cents per can.
I have been thinking about stocking up on booze for possible trading. Vodka and Jim Beam as good staple items.

Yessir that store brand stuff is just as good. And booze is going to be a premier bartering item. I limited it to one bucket full of pint bottles and airline bottles of rum, vodka and whiskey. I don't consume liquor, but if AB could figure out shelf-stable Bud Light, I would be very appreciative lol

Picked up one of these to add to the mobile comms. set up. Will wire the BOV this week sometime.

75-822 Portable/Mobile CB Radio, mount, quick release, spring, & 4' Firestik. I also got a different telescoping antenna for when I'm in handheld mode.

If it's a real cast iron pot, I can tell you what the hole's for. It's an old 'chuckwagon' cook pot or a laundry pot. You put a piece of wood in it and fill it with water. The water makes the wood swell and plug the hole. You either heat up water for laundry or for cooking, and when you want to empty the pot (of laundry water or whatver's left that you can't transport), you yank out or knock out the plug, and the pot drains.

I had a friend that had one, and got it cheaper from the ignorant antique dealer because 'look, there's a hole in the bottom'. She's the one that researched it and told me.

Started a raised bed garden. Didn't realize how much blasted dirt those things use! Got 5 big bags and didn't even fill the bottom ring of a pyramid planter! Having a few cubic yards delivered this week. That'll fix it!

DM- last year was my first year with my planter boxes. They were almost full last year & the soil settled so the guys on here suggested ways to get the soil from compacting. I am having to get another load of soil but I am putting straw in to keep it lose.

I actually got bags of soil to put in my new pots I salvaged. They will become potato planters for in front of the house.
