I got my Northern Tool catalog in mail today. Is it bad that it is to me as an adult as the old Sears Wishbook catalog was to me as a child? LoL

Only now its generators, tractor attachments, Small Engines, Waterpumps, Tools, etc.... LoL

If you have a hard time finding the 'white gas' keep in mind that the same product comes with several labels. Its also sold in the hardware/paint area as naptha, camping as coleman fuel and at the counter as zippo/lighter fluid, all the same chemical. I buy my zippo fluid in camping or hardware sections and refill the bottle since its a fraction the price.

    Great score though.

Careful having so much Par-Cord, You'll find yerself using it fer all sorts of things. Last year I ran out of string staking my maters in garden. So used Black 550 Paracord for the rest. As well as staking up my lima beans. about 4 months later I cut the knots off, re-Toasted the ends with my lighter & rolled it up. Virtually no sign of wear from the elements. Its ready & waiting for this year LoL

5 lbs of rice, 9 lbs of beans, 3 lbs oats, 4 lbs grits, 4 lbs brown sugar. 25 mercury dimes. This weekend I'll be vacating a closet and dedicating it strictly to food storage. My buckets have been out in the open for about a month. The contents are behind the bucket, a dark lawn bag and then the mylar bags so I'm thinking it's all fine, but I'll feel much better once it's all in the dark. Ole lady ain't too happy that I shut the vent and keep the door to that room shut so it stays cool, but hey, some things you just have to insist on.

Just ripped open about a case and a half of MREs, sorted them, field stripped them, packed what I want to keep into buckets, and the scraps went into the barter box.

Also two dozen rolls TP, a few bundles of institutional brown paper towels, hand sanitizer and a few bottles of hand soap.

Oh, yeah, I made about 100 fire starters from a bag of cotton balls and 2 containers of petroleum jelly from the Dollar Tree.

That's pretty awesome. Been wanting to make homemade candles so I've been saving up pasta sauce jars. Probably do that next weekend.

Firestarters is a nice evening project while watching a movie and decomposing ... I mean decompressing from work. BTW, if anyone's interested, I work in a bookstore and if you want to order anything, I'll make sure you get a discount. Message me if interested, and I'll give you the phone number and stuff. Information is always a good thing.

Lol I find prepping of most any kind to be my decompression from the daily grind! Strange, but there is a kind of solace to it.

No not strange at all. I get a great felling of contentment when the pantry and armory appears full.

Then I think I can find room for one more case... [tongue]

Mercury dimes have the Roman (Greek?) god Mercury (the speedy one) on them rather than whatever is on the current crop of mostly not silver in today's coinage. More silver, you get them on coin exchanges among other places.

Not a bit. I'm taking my frustrations out on my PVC bow this weekend. It takes a lot of pounding to get one piece into the other piece. This week's agenda for putting away, more seeds from the Dollar Tree (I'll rotate them next year), and making some herbal tinctures for emergency.
