One thing that Light's Out did was make me look at my neighbors. Really look at them and know their hobbies, professions and look at their homes. Amazing how you can drive by and not notice tomato plants or a little garden. I really saw my neighborhood differently. And no matter where you go there is always a few Vietnam vets, bless them they know patriotism.

Yes, our local communities and how we trust and interact with the individuals that comprise them is important and often overlooked by the general preparedness class.

I have in hand, a (much bedraggled )library copy of both Lights out, and Collision Course. As soon as I finish the book I am on right now, the journey begins.

For anyone who didn't receive it, here's the link from the email they sent today:

    Lights Out Saga | Indiegogo

Presumably, the Limited Edition DVD is a copy of the movie...?

The fund raising goal is 175K bux. Can't believe they can produced a movie for that little money. There have to be major outside investors, or this will turn out way below the quality of the book.

Not that I'm any less excited about the movie, but... There's so much good stuff in the book, I don't see how they can possibly cram it all into the usual 1.5 - 2 hour length of a movie.

Either way, I'm still looking forward to it.

I donated what I could spare. Thanks for the link JABE!!!

It said on the page any donation over $50 in the first 48 hours would get the Lights Out Challenge Coin. I hope mine was in time. :)

i've bought quite a few copies of the book, and given them all away except for one much worn copy. Heh guess I better order sum more soon. It was Lights Out that lead me to join the monkey, & thus to the realization that I was a Prepper, I just didn't know it at the time.

Posted the link on my FB...I have used Lights Out as a "first book" for people I have wanted to introduce to the idea of prepping with a fair amount of success, so possibly the posting will result in some activity...

    Looking forward to the movie(s)

@STANGF150 , I just got another email from the fundraising folks, saying "hurry so you can still get your Challenge Coin at the $50 donation mark, only 4 hours left" or something like that... Looks like you signed on with plenty of time to spare. [winkthumb]

*whew* Cuz while the Sticker may be Nice, & they can keep the Towel, sum how that Coin & the DVD mean far more to me.

Heh I may end up after seeing it, buying more the DVDs for those not quite so literate enough for the easy reading of the book.

    Got My Package Today!!!

I knew a couple weeks ago it was coming but it had slipped my mind. Really went to Post Office to pick up the refills for my E-cig as I'm trying to quit smoking. But anyways the Coin is way nicer than I expected & it gives me warm fuzzies just holding it. I'd forgotten about the hand towel so kinda thought was a t-shirt until I pulled it out. Nice quality & very well done even though I'll never use it. The sticker & patch are rather nice too. The mini-poster is two sided & like a handout yoou'd get at a gun show. After admiring my recently arrived goodies only one thing can top it. For the dvd to arrive in my hands this fall!!! Now I'm just wondering if I have the woodworking skill to build a respectable shadowbox to put these in. :D

    Awesome STANGF150!
Hopefully you've seen the announcements that we are going to attempt a TRILOGY!! We're also recommitting to making them all as great as they can be, which meant a big of regrouping was needed. I've hired a team of scriptwriters out of Hollywood to make the best 3 scripts we can get. We're going to spend most of this year doing logistics and planning (scripts, budgeting, script breakdown, location scouting, casting, etc.). Our hope is to shoot all three movies next year. The end result will be a MUCH better set of movies that stay true to the book (where we would have had to cut a LOT to fit Lights Out in to even 2 movies). Hope that makes everyone happy!!

Here are some pictures of the gear (for those of you who didn't snag any in the first fundraising drive). The last fundraising drive was severly hampered by Indiegogo, when they decided to ban even firearms accessories (yes, even flashlights). We decided to NOT put our all in to that drive and regroup for another push. Our real fundraising drive will start in about two weeks. We've created our own store, brought on additional sponsors, and think we'll raise what we need to at least get through this planning stage.

Again - THANK YOU ALL!! We're working very hard to make a GREAT trilogy based on Lights Out, and definitely couldn't do it without all of your support.

I wonder which would cause the more interesting response? 5,000 masks, or 5,000 of these hats in a crowd? Masked folk are more likely to make trouble, due to a lack of personal cost for their decisions, but hatted folk are much more ready for trouble, if it occurs. Mob mentality, or steadfast conviction. imagine the conflict if placed one against the other. I know which one I would wear, How about you?[IMG][IMG]

Kell, just think of sumone wearing BOTH Muahahaha [taser1]

Personally I think everyone should donate to get the challenge coin. After all, in a Post-SHTF world what could possibly identify you more as both a Prepper & an American than a Lights Out Challenge Coin ?

I think they conflict in nature. I don't think you could be true to both.
