ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

Yeah the Texas sheriffs have been rather silent about it as well. I like to think that they are mostly older guys and perhaps not very internet savvy and that they DID send a letter but haven't added their name to the list.

    I dunno tho...

It would take some huge balls, but Gaston Glock should write a letter stating that he will not sell to any departments serving those cities ruled by tyrannical mayors.

That would make me go and buy a couple Gen4s.

I'm going to take a wild guess here, and assume this means "refuse to sell to them"?o_O

That and refuse to service any arms that might have been damaged in use, or supply spares.

I've got a question, that I don't think they've thought of: If the cities boycott gun manufacturers, what are the cops going to use, water pistols? I agree that someone should point that out to the gun companies, that they can stop this in its tracks.

You might want to ask why Colt has not been shut down yet? After all they are in the middle of the pot.

Of course the answer is that the GOV depends on Colt as does a lot of Jobs in Hartford, CT, 06141

    Follow the money trail.

The answer to your QUESTION is, really another Question...
If Glock, Colt, Remington, S&W, Ruger, And a whole slew of non-US Gun Manufactures would actually do a Barrett Move, then YES, that would be an approach,
HOWEVER, much of the production of these firms, depend on Police Purchases, to make them Profitable, they have very limited Incentive to
do such a thing, especially the non-US manufacturers. Do you think that the Checks, Russians, Brazilians, and Chinese will do the same thing, and not just
copy the weapons, required, and supply them, to our Police, and take the Profit Offshore. Nope, the reason Barrett can get away with this is He OWNS his Company, AND He markets in a very narrow Nitch Market, that he has almost exclusive, control over..... and even then He can, or could change his Policy at ANY Time, should it start to bite into his Bottom Line, excessively..... ...... YMMV....

They don't care a bit about jobs, they've proven that. Weapons for their people, on the other hand, is a COMPLETELY different story. As much as I disliked Bush (and I did), at least we didn't have to worry about our 2nd Amendment rights, just some of our others.

Might be that the distributors would have to get on board with the mfrs. OK by me.

Gun Control Debate Reveals Rift Among Nation's Sheriffs - Officer.com

When these lawyers say "sheriffs can't decide what is Constitutional . . . that's for the courts" regarding they may not enforce a ban: these yahoos don't get it--gun ownership doesn't even need court consent! There's no reason to have judges debate the issue. The Constitution is very clear--the Bill of Rights does not GRANT citizens the right to own a gun--as if it were a privilege, it clearly states that the government cannot take that God-given right away. So, the sheriffs see this "controversy" as already decided 224 years ago.
