All you monkeys make it through the storms ok? lots of wind a few trees down and some tin off the sheds....
Okay, this sounds like one of those rare days that I'm grateful to be in Los Angeles. The worst we get here is the occasional earthquake or fire.
Same "neck o the woods" as darklight--just some wind and a coupe heavy showers. Lost electricity for a moment is all.
You guys are "Weather Wossies"... Up here, we don't even begin to "Get in a Twit", until the Winds get to 60 Knots, then Excited at 100 Knots, and Worried at 120 Knots.... Snow isn't an issue, unless it drops 3+ Feet in a single night. Then it is time to snowmobile down, and start the "Crawly CAT" and pack down the trail a bit.
"Weather woosies"---I live in N.C. because of it's wonderful weather. You hard core critters can have all that snow, wind, frigid weather. Hey, when you go outside to take a leak and have to carry a hammer with you then it is tooooooo cold---LOL. Our son called last week and said they were having a heat wave--40*--told him it was 73* here----snicker snicker. Was 75* yesterday and only 50* today but that is normal.
"Gonna katch me sum o dem bigguns" next spring up dar. If I can afford the license that is. Hear they really stick it to tourists.
Alaska offers 3 Day and weekly licenses for non-Residents... If you ARE a Resident, and over 60, you can get a Lifetime Hunting, Fishing & Trapping Permit.. I have one of those... Make sure you bring you Poles...
wind started yesterday mid morning. I was working outside. at 81 degrees and 2pm I decided to call it a day. being retired and drawing my entitlements, va disability, ssi, military retirement, I figured I shouldn't over do it. went home had a late lunch and decided to take a nap. The wind was really up and looked like rain by then. Power went out while I was sleeping. I noticed yawned and rolled over. Got up before 5pm and power was still out. Went walkabout on my property and saw nothing wrong to speak of. Drove slowly out to pavement (2.4 miles) looking for downed lines/trees. nada. Went to town and picked up a lotto ticket and some take out. When I got home power was back on. Howling wind and rain into the night. Light to medium winds today. Worked outside on a generator install 9am to 330pm. non-event storms for me
