yeah, I know if I didn't already have ammo saved up it's my own fault. But I bought my first three firearms in the past 6 months. And with my ammo low from doing a little bit a practicing I went to stock up again. I have checked everywhere local and online and it's gone everywhere. I guess from the Sandy stuff and everything. Does anyone believe stock will be back anytime soon? I have around 200 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds of 22lr and that is NOTHING i know. I am still newer to all this so cut me a little slack
The Stock will return in about 6 months, as long as the .Gov doesn't do anything to hinder production.... That is the usual production Lag Time in the Ammo OEM World....
if raum emasculation has his way, funding for weapon and ammo suppliers will dry up. I heard he called on banks to stop providing loans and line of credit to weapons manufacturers. If the government pays the banks for their losses , I'm pretty sure the banksters will jump at the deal. Viva La serfdom.
Only some of them will, and then some of the local Banks, with HUNGRY Presidents, will gladly pickup the slack, and make some good Cash, the old fashioned Way... "They will Earn it"
I was at a small local gun show today. There was a bunch of ammo, all calibers. It was only 2X what it was a couple of months ago, though! Kajun

i just called Gander Mt. and got prices. 12ga copper sabots 5 shots for $18. 12ga 3" rifled slugs 5 shots for about $7. .22lr are $8.00 per hundred, with a five box limit. .223 are completely out of stock.
Sportsmans guide where I often buy bulk 22lr, had been completely out. If you do a search there now, they will allow backorders and they have a published expected delivery date as early as the first week in Feb. If nothing else it's worth your time to take a look. For the items with expected delivery 3 to 4 months out they will not take orders yet but will put you on a notice of availability if you want. Bulk buys are in no way discouraged.
The best way to find ammo is go to the places that are out of stock and "sign up" to be alerted when it's back in stock. That's about the only way to get it before the ammo locusts pick it clean.
Make friends with department store management and you shall be rewarded. Also, check out local indoor flea markets if you have any nearby.
Being a closet prepper...I've decided to come out... Found a few 22lr round's that i had forgotten about... Last night's dig.
chisel21 i realize your new to all this BUT reloading seems hard but to me it is actually quite easy the initial start up is what'll get ya but after that you'll understand just do you home work and ask questions and you'll be ok
Hmm, not sure if I have time to try to make friends at the store, but flea markets sounds like a good idea. I'll check out! Thanks for the tips!
You bet. Hey, I just ended up walking in the local Wally World late at night a few times and caught a guy stocking shelves. We started talking about little things, and before you know it he mentions to me that he only stocks what he is told to stock because the ammo would be all gone if he always placed it all in the cabinets. It only takes a couple guys with deep pockets to clear out the entire stock since Wal-Mart does not bulk order many products, especially ammo it seems. So, a little knowledge could help, even if friendship cannot be attained.
