Pick the motel, we might have a few others that want a gathering place other than mud and air mattresses.
While it is true that you can openly carry at KC, they will strap your weapon at the entrance gate with a zip-tie just like at any other gunshow. Thi does not apply to the camp ground, just they entrance gate to the shoot and ranges.
There are going to be a couple cars attending, wouldn't let traffic worry you. I'd bet you could be wedged into one as a passenger.
Yes, it does. But it also keeps your flesh less apt to suffer in downtown traffic, and might make the commute shorter. Uv cuss, ya gotta do what ya gotts to do.
For other who are thinking of attending: Here is a listing of all local hotels. The closest to the range are the ones in Shepherdsville and Brooks. no problem, i will sheath and belt carry my electricians side cutters for quick release in an emergency. just a tool you know.....
No worries Tac, one doesn't know @phishi, @phishi knows them. Ahh phishi. Where to begin... perhaps at the end.... No. How 'bout just this much. for now: phishi is a Founder and Moderator here at the Monkey. He was former Special Forces and got into some trouble doing contract psy op work in Columbia for one of those un-named, off budget groups. He took the fall for a group of good men and did his time quietly, G Gordon Liddy style, not saying a word even under heavy persuasive measures. phishi's a lot like a Chuck Norris crossed with a Ph.D, in fact they used to call him Dr Norris behind his back in hushed whispers around the fire. Legend has it that he once gutted a sand sand shark and climbed inside to sneak up on some bad guys somewhere but I don't so much believe that one. Then again, he does have a scar that runs from above his eyebrow down to his ankle - nobody will ever ask him about it. When meeting phishi, remember this: There Is No Scar. phishi's also a good friend of mine and was one of 29 in attendance at my wedding. I'm not sure how but he's aware of this meeting and I wanted to alert him to this thread so he can run some local logistics prior to the shoot. We'll be needing lots of beer, lots of bourbon and a perhaps a loaf of bread.
My apologies phishi, I actually thought his post that prompted my question was some sort of social media gibberish that had gone over my head. When Melbo answered my question as he did I immediately thought ..... OOPS, oh $hit, opsec out the window. TMI !!! . That said, if you make it to Knob Creek, I would be honored to buy you a cold beer.
I'll be there. If people are interested in camping, which in my personal opinion is the only way to go, then I will do my best to secure an area large enough and help with logistics. For those who have experienced being awoken by the sound of a GE mini gun, the world is never quite the same.
