From Religion Today's headlines--and this is part of nobammies "peaceful religion": Christian Convert From Islam Beheaded in Somalia Islamic extremists from Somalia's rebel al Shabaab militants killed a Christian in Somalia's coastal city of Barawa on Nov. 16, accusing him of being a spy and leaving Islam, Morning Star News reports. The extremists beheaded 25-year-old Farhan Haji Mose after monitoring his movements for six months, underground Christians in Somalia said. Mose drew suspicion when he returned to Barawa in December 2011 after spending time in Kenya, which is nearly 83 percent Christian, opposed to Somalia, which is close to 100 percent Muslim. Mose had converted to Christianity in 2010 while in Kenya. Sources said a crowd assembled in Barawa to watch the slaughter of Mose. "His body was split into two, then carried away, only to be dumped near the beach of Barawa city," a Christian who witnessed the murder said. Other Muslim witnesses independently described the same scene, saying the extremists accused Mose of being a spy for foreigners and of embracing the "foreign religion of Christianity." Al Shabaab rebels have killed dozens of Christian converts from Islam since embarking on a campaign to rid Somalia of Christianity. The extremists, variously estimated at 3,000 to 7,000, seek to impose a stricter version of sharia (Islamic law) on Somalia.
Anything I would say here would be considered radical anti-Islamic, non-politically correct, insensitive, racist, or otherwise offensive. I believe in the ten commandments of the Bible, the golden rule, in the Constitution of our nation's Foundng Fathers with few amendments, and in Religious freedom to include freedom to be a non believer in any God. Live and let live is a nice saying until radicals start to slay those who do not believe as they do. At that point the Murderers and their ilk deserve to be slayed as well ..... by any means requred to stop them permenantly.
Damn I wish I could stop my tongue from wagging. . BTW, any extremist crowd of 3000 to 7000 standing around watching this gruesome spectical, and not immediately fleeing the area are not innocents, regardless of their age or gender. . If a 30 ton TNT equivelent MOAB were dropped in their midst and detonated, It would be a great day for the rest of the world. Good ridance to a large group of the scum of the earth. . Thus speaks the passive radical who would prefer just to be left alone in peace.
nothing to add to that Tac, you said it all. I agree in live and let live, but I also believe in an eye for an eye. It is great to think that it is not in our back yard so just let it be, but how long before it starts to happen over here, by then its too late
I cant wait to hear the spin on how this isn't so bad and doesn't represent anyone involved. Just think if it was the other way around and the out cry afterwards.
These are thugs and trash, trying to wrap themselves in the respectability of religion. The Spanish conquistadors too, claimed to be acting on the behalf of God while they raped and plundered Central and South America. The Portuguese who set up their slaving station on an island off the coast of West Africa built there a Christian Church, through which slaves would pass on their way to a life of torture and toil in the New World. As the slaves passed through the church, they were baptized and given a Christian name. Thus, the Portuguese slavers claimed to be doing God's work, in saving the souls of these poor savages. "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from a religious conviction." - Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)
And neither Christ or Mohammad condoned any of this slaughter. If you read the Versions of the Koran prior to the Ottoman empire Islam was also supposed to be about passive live and let live. Jihad level one was one of live and let live . Today its level 4 which calls for killing all infidels. Both religions have been hijacked And plundered in the name of money many times over. To hold true to God one must reject modern religion. But yes these extremist Muslims are killing Christians where ever they can get away with it. This war has been going on for centuries even before the crusades and the Catholic church. Murdering in the name of God. Believe me when I say this. They have made their beds.
Revelation 9:3-4 states "Then out of the smoke locust came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or ant green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads." The author of Revelations, John, was talking about the Ottoman Empire during the last crusade and until the Ottoman Empire was finally broken by internal decree. The Sheik gave an order to not harm "the grass of the earth, or ant green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads" against the crusading invaders that were trying to get a stronghold into the original holy land. Those who were spared, having "the seal of God on their foreheads" were Christians in the true sense- not Catholic apostollic followers that worshipped on the first day of the week. Even the Muslims knew that Christians worshipped on the seventh day, and that the Popery (Daniel 7:25) "He shall speak pompous words agains the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time." changed the original sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st. They were no longer sealed, and thus came under the power of the Ottomans. Just what am I trying to say? That Islam is clearly stated in the bible, even in the Old Testament. God used them to pester and torment the apostolic Catholics, just like he did the Israelites with the Babylonians. To get them to see that they were doing wrong and make them change their ways. Moving to more modern times, there isn't mention of any great power coming from the muslims. The power that Revelation 13:11-12 talks about is; "Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." is US. The good old US of A. This might be a little confusing, as it was for both Daniel and then John, and needed the help of angels to get the point across. Daniel 8:16 "And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, who called, and said 'Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.'" As per Daniel (still Old Testament, here folks. The New Testament doesn't cancel out the Old, it just reinforces it!) was told that beasts ment nations, and horns ment rulers or laws. The beast with two horns comes "up out of the earth" meaning unpopulated lands, with "two horns like a lamb" meaning that the secular law was sepperated from sacred law. You can't get any closer description of the USA to someone living in the third century BC. So with that in mind, The USA will wonder after the first beast (the popery) and ultimately force the entire world to worship the apostalic church. That doesn't seem likely to happen? Well, there has to be some things to take place first, to "set the stage" so to speak. I believe we are just about to witness the setup. Another world war would do the trick, a war between religions, with the victor getting to state "it's our way or the highway."
Trying to corner what John saw and reported on is like chasing a rabbit through a dense briar patch. If you get down on your knees you can crawl a lot faster than trying to stomp your way through. Ask ten Biblical scholars what it means and you will get ten different interpretations---and each one can prove what he believes. I tend not to put much time into the last book (have taken two courses in it). The important thing is to be ready when your time comes or that time comes. The rest is insignificant and unfruitful to spend much time on it. The book is intriguing to the "max" and way too open to individual interpretation. We will understand it when it starts to unfold--that part that has not happened yet. IMO, if you are a young person you had better hang onto your hat as you will probably see the prophecies come to pass.
I lost any interest in that band when they played for Obama at his inaugeration. Welcome to the machine, boys; the same machine you always bitched about.
"What's his name" keeps strange company--"Rev." Wright, criminal cronies, terrorists, and that so called band. Shame they mess up good music with their political crap.
What's truly a shame is "What's his name" and his cronies messing up this country with their political crap.
Well said Tac. Am still in denial that he is in for four more years--with more "flexibility". That is a bit worrisome.
King O was re-elected somehow by the Majority of the voters in the 2012 presidential election. I accept that as something I can not change without breaking laws of this nation. He is supposed to complete his second and last term of office on January 20, 2017, turning over the Country and the Whitehouse to the Newly Elected Legitimate Replacement from the 2016 Presidential Election. If for some reason that has not happened, I have declared January 22, 2017 to be "Dethronement Day" for King O by any and all means neccessary. All Patriotic volunteers form up outside the fence of the Whitehouse on that date at Daylight. Approximately 30 hours should be adequate to muster a sufficient force to accomplish that goal.
And he jets around the world, kissing tail in front of millions in the third world (Burma) and wonders why the US is in the state it's in. All that fuel in AF1 plus the two escorts might have been better used on the Jersey shore, eh?
I'm just hoping that RATM is pulling a mole technique and fighting them from the inside. That's exactly what I would do.
As the Old Testament was finished by the 6th Century BCE, and the New Testament was finished by the 2nd Century CE, and Islam didn't exist until the 7th Century CE; I have a difficult time accepting that Islam is mentioned in the Christian Bible at all. And I agree with -06, interpreting the book of Revelations is a curly question indeed.
tulianr - it's called revelation. If you are willing to presuppose that ANY of the good book is accurate and be talking about/warning about today and the end times then (and I'm just making a point, not drawing a line) why can't portions of it be talking about a religion that didn't exist yet? Isn't that kind of how revelation works?
