As I sit here after the election I am pondering the results and the unanticipated consequences. This is the third election where the country was divided 50, 48. No one in the media wants to talk about how "diversity" leads a nation to polar opposites that will oppose each other. Look at the middle east to see the results. The end results for us is oppression or revolution. If we are to survive both sides need to accept the beliefs of each other with out trying to enforce their own. I believe abortion and gun rights fall into the same category, if you dont believe in one dont get one but dont interfer with others ability to have one. Having said that I feel abortion is abhorrent. I have never meet a woman who got pregnant just to have one. But to allow freedom is to allow things that you dont like.
If I lived in a democracy I would agree , the US is a representative republic, where 2 wolves and sheep voting on dinner is not the law of the land. Our system is designed to protect the sheep.
so the 50 percent of the population that said Obama was their man doesn't force him upon us? Do we have to listen to him? Yep, it's a democracy. The second amendment currently is the only thing (in my opinion) that is keeping the sheep from being ripped apart right now.
Its not the second amendment, its the willingness of the people who believe in it to use their guns that keeps us safe from them. It is funny that those who would oppose us believe in being unarmed.
I think the republic was put on life support before we were born. And sometime during out lifetime they pulled the plug but didn't tell us. Currently IMHO what we have is what the corporation want. Those are the 'Citizens' that are being represented, their interests, and their wishes. The citizens of the states themselves are just a necessary source of funding.
It is funny for sure. I'm betting they will someday notice that not having a gun was probably a really bad idea. Probably as they are trying to get out of a FEMA camp.
The Electoral College has undermined the popular vote more than once - not the case this time around, but still - I don't know that we can call it a true democracy when that's the way it works. Does that mean that we are in fact a representative republic? Let's see... wouldn't that be the case if and only if those elected, represented the populace? Maybe not the entire populace, maybe not even the majority, maybe just the populace as a whole - but even then, are we the people... represented? If we're not a representative republic or a democracy, then what exactly are we? "A nation divided" may be the cliche answer that everyone agrees on these days, but that answer should not be considered an acceptable one.
I think that the most accurate answer would be that we live under a fascist regime. Once they can obtain all the weapons, only then will the sheeple see how bad it can get as this is merely foreplay.
I used to think the electoral college was crazy and compromised the will of the population. Then we had the Bush Gore election and the hanging chad craziness prompted me to think otherwise. Image for a minute that instead of Gore being a tiny bit behind in Florida, that we had no electoral college and he was a tiny bit behind for the whole country. The stuff in Florida recounting everything would have then been repeated in many precincts in every single state. Thank God for the astounding wisdom of our founders!! Just my current thinkin. AT
+1 to the astounding wisdom of our founders, as a true democracy is little more than mob rule - but I don't think we're out of the woods yet, AT. Will be interesting to see if this opens up a can of worms, or if the people will choose not to hear it. Breaking: Florida Showing Massive Voter Fraud
Bwahahahahaha, It looks like someone got lazy and just dumped all the ballots on a few precincts instead of spreading them around like they were suppose to. LOL, it's not going to matter, It's a farce anyway. Obummer was anointed to be the fat-head puppet for this cycle. It's just now they let their tactics of how it's done slip from the shadows into the light. No matter, it just an illusion, these are not the ballots you are looking for ............
Wow! Great call about Abortion and Gun Rights people more or less being polar opposites! We are definitely on track to maintain a path of increasing polarity. I understand it got pretty bad just before the Civil War. I do not think we are at a comparable point to that low point just yet. But if our national "leadership" does not get the direction of our increasing polarity adjusted--we could have really bad times not too far off in the future.
Yep and Illinois and Missouri have dual petitions. I can understand voting twice in IL but Missouri? WTF?
"I don't believe gun owners have rights. Sarah Brady It's not a gun control problem; it's a cultural control problem. Bob Barr Our main agenda is to have ALL guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed. Sarah Brady The House passage of our bill is a victory for this country! Common sense wins out. I'm just so thrilled and excited. The sale of guns must stop. Halfway measures are not enough. Sarah Brady We must get rid of all the guns. Sarah Brady" Yeah, substitute a couple of words, and the attitudes are very similar. Such as : "I don't believe women have a right to their bodies" Or "It is not an abortion problem, it's a culture problem" Or maybe "Our agenda is to have ALL abortions banned, We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort facts or even lie.Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who resist us have been totally disarmed." or even "We must get rid of all abortions" In both cases, there is complete intolerance, and a desire to rule what happens to others.
