Sadly a friends grandfather passed away last week, she found a box with assorted ammo and gave it to me. 2 boxes of 444 marlin, 3 1/2 boxes of 44, 1 box 357, 2 boxes of 9mm and 357 birdshot, half a brick of 22lr, assorted 12gauge. Now I just need more guns to shoot it out of!

  2. I don't know if this qualifies as "putting away" but I started recycling an older style overhead garage door from one of my properties to another where I'm using it to build glass windowed hangar doors on the workshop where those "TOM's" will start to grow next year. I also recycled a couple chucks from some old drill presses to use, probably over the winter, to build a specialty coil winder that will double as a glass lathe. I mentioned some sensitive technology in another thread for alternative energy sources...

Hmmm. I've been at this for a while but since I'm new here...

Local soopahmarkets had 20lb bags of rice on sale for 7.99 so I walked out with five of 'em.

    Yes I paid for them....

Have an order into the local LDS cannery for a boatload of No. 10 cans, o2 absorbers & dessicant packs.

Guess what I'm doing this weekend ?

Another Zippo hand warmer and replacement element. Added some more Coleman Fuel to the reserves (naptha, cheaper to buy than lighter fluid).

1 bag of cool ranch Doritos. I ate those.

Did you know that at one time, frankincense and myrrh were more valuable than gold?

Keeping in touch with this quaint --NAY, ancient resource, I have acquired some of the purest incense. melbo would appreciate this for the fact that you now could have a justifiable reason to purchase Holland quick lighting charcoal tablets for hookas and incense burning. Mind, body and...well, spirits for those whom it applies. It's the trifecta of a lifetime.

Could be hookah fuel or for burning incense, but they are not the actual incense. The incense I picked up is called "resin", and it is in its pure state, right from the tree. :)

    frankincense resin
    myrrh resin
    copal resin

6 tubes of silver solution antimicrobial gel for wound de-germing. 2 dozen rolls of 2-1/2" gauze (I went through a ton of this on my last arm wound), another 6 Israeli 4" and 4 6" bandages, 12 more bottles of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 6 tubes of Polysporin,
5 liters of 100 proof vodka for making black elderberry tincture. We also make 2 qts of Dakin's solution every 60 days and dispose of the old stuff. Dakin's solution is used for flushing out a wound.

Local Wal-Mart is now stocking emergency food stuff. I picked up their "Emergency Storage Dinner Pack"
200 servings of food, 30 year shelf life, about $62.00. Also in #10 cans, dehydrated bell peppers, apple and banana slices, butter powder, and a chocolate flavored milk substitute.

Please explain just a bit more and include your recipe. Thanks

Recipe probably appropriate for "survival medicine" thread, instead of here.
