This is a nice tough little tool it has a knife blade, small saw blade, wrenches, bottle/can opener, flat head screw driver and is about the size of a credit card. I have this obsession with my jump bag always trying to make things more orginized and add just a little more. I am realy impressed with this tool it's not a super tool and if I was around my larger bag or building I have tools that would do the job quicker and easier. Now in a SHTF we can't carry or don't carry our 50 and 60lb tool boxes with us and when out in public our larger bags are in the vehicle or at home. This is a perfect compact tool that does not take up alot of space and if SHTF and you needed a tool. It would be the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion. Plus it will do the job alot better than the empty hand better than the empty hand. It is made of steel and comes at a very good price. (I got mine from Amazon) try one you wont regret it... I have one, my wife got it for me for Christmas last year. I keep mine in my wallet. I haven't used it yet, but I think it will only stand up to light use, nothing too heavy. Just my impression it it.
Keep mine in my wallet too, along with my credit card sized Fresnel lens ($.99 at Hancock Fabrics at the register) and a P-51 can opener ($1.85 from my local knife shop, at the register). While the tool has a can opener, and my Swiss army Knife has one, I like the P-51 (larger handle than the P-38) . I agree with the light use aspect. Ghrit, mine came with a vinyl sleeve, I wrapped it in a single layer of duct tape to strengthen it. I would also like to add, I keep a micro multi-screw driver (flat head, phillips, and star head screw drivers, in a single aluminum tube) a Leatherman squirt, and a Swiss Army Officer's knife in my cellphone/belt pouch (Maxpedition), so I have a small, lightweight tool set on my belt.
Anyone else have an affinity towards any small multi-use tools? I drool at small titanium pry bars and ingenious key ring tools at place like Shomer-tec and County Comm. So far I have resisted the urge to buy every EDC item out there, but I am thinking about starting a collection of these neato items. (Sorry if I derailed)
I gree it it is for it's not for heavy use but still nice to have a little extra in a time of need. As for the finger loss that was one of my conserns as well, I was thinking about a plasic strip like you would use on edges of thin metal that slides over to protect the edges. Hispeedal2 I am a small tool junkie as well I see them and alot of times if the price is not to bad I'll buy 2 one to test and one for my bag. As for the EDC I hear it calling my name as well.
Been carrying one of those in my wallet for years. Probably haven't used it more than a couple dozen times but it was a handy tool when I did need it.(I quit flying 20 years ago).
I'm a whore for CountyComm. I have a big Tupperware container with about everything they sell. I was sad to see them quit selling the GSAR watches. I carry this in my EDC.
