picked up 30# of 2.5" galvanized nails

 

35 quarts of berries--only 5 to go to meet my goal. Starting tomatoes/juice Monday. Got to looking and have 3 Burpee 7 quart canners and 3 Presto. Think I will sell a few--do not know where they came from. Did "honey do" today--bathroom faucets/ kitchen drains/ under sink shelving/ and cleaning off calcium deposits. Moma is a slave driver--be glad when she goes back to full time work so I can get some rest--LOL.

 

Put up 50 lbs split chicken and beef, half frozen, half canned. Local store had a big deal day.
20 lbs from the range went back to the pot.

 

Got a big one done this week. Refinanced the house. Rolled college loans and car note into the refi. Dropped interest rate to 3%, dropped one year off the mortgage, dropped over $600/month off the monthly expenses, and have a solid plan in place to be out of debt in seven years.

On other fronts:
Put back 100 rds 115gr 9mm & 100 rds 124gr 9mm. Also working with locksmith (brother-in-law) to turn master bedroom closet into a panic room for minimal investment. I was shocked to find out how easily and cheaply it can be done.

Scrounged another canner. It is an antique "National" from E Clair Wis--stamped on the lid. It has no gasket but a ring of winged nuts to force the lid into the slightly coned pot. Can't wait to try it out. Think that makes 7 canners. Need to get busy and fill them. Bought another gas hot plate at a yard sale recently so we can have three canners going at the same time outside on the patio.

Just starting out but added many Buy One Get One Free items Publix has Crest Toothpaste reg. 2.69 on sale 10 for $10 so i bought 20. Ive been blowing the budget by going to 3 or 4 different grocery stores on Wed. because I get my senior discount. I get the specials WE USE regularly and really stock up when on sale. It takes a little time on the computer but now you can print your list and follow it strictly when you go to the store. I get my cold items at last grocery store or take an ice chest.
Also found Large Cans of Bush baked beans at dollar store for $1 got 2 cases of 12. Best buy date was 2014. Little by little im tryin to get there. I have read everything I can on this website and i love it. Everyone seems so helpful to one another. God Bless

 

Pick up some of those freezer paks for your cooler. That way you have a cold cooler to keep frozen/refrigerated items in till you make it home. Putting up some fig preserves tomorrow in pints.

Well, as many of you know, I'm a newbie to handguns. Just got a Glock 17 and a Sig SP2022 (both 9mm) about a month or so back. Wife and I are hitting the range regularly, and she is beginning to get a little more comfortable, but so far we've been hauling the pistols around in their plastic cases carried discretely in a messenger bag. Needless to say, that's no way to keep them. Last night, I ordered a pair of Hazard4 Stick-Up Modular Universal Holsters so they can be secreted within easy reach in the house.

Also ordered a Gote Gear Standard IWB Holster for my Glock (for after I get my CHL), another Cold Steel GI Tanto (for my wife's BOB), and another six-pack of the Blackhawk Molle Speed Clips for the BOBs.

But most important of all, I got my wife to suggest that we both begin CHL class together after a few more weeks at the practice range! Gawd, I love that woman!!
