Unless there is DNA stored on that cow, I am afraid the evidence is being consumed so I shan't worry too much about it. Oh Ms RH? To answer you question of my departure schedule, I plan to leave within a day or two of the river returning from the state it now is in to the normal lazy Chattahoochee.

That looks a lot like an Angus bull. Not much for milking but good eating

I don't know much about cows except they appear to be mean and dangerous.
    oh...and they taste good.

I guess you spent too many years with your nose buried in law books to learn the distinguishing characteristics between cows and bulls. Frank, we really have to get you to widen your horizons if you expect to re-propagate Georgia single handed (So to speak)

I wouldn't poke that one too hard. Looks like it's been dead long enough to start building pressure.

Looks like it's still kicking to me; don't see any flies around it.

Looks like you got thunder storms every day this week in the forecast, Frank. Better put off your exploratory trip for a bit.

Hope your hanging in man. Rain came through here and was bad. Don't know how your cave is set up to handle it.

The river keeps getting higher and higher. I discovered some grain spilled alongside a railroad track and was able to gather several bags of dried corn. I have devised a mortar to grind it into meal and have enjoyed several meals of cornmeal mush with mulberries and honey sweetener. I have an improvised oven that works quit well for meats and such and managed at capture a cow long enough to extract a pint of milk. I have some eggs and bear fat. I tried to bake corn bread but I cannot make it rise without baking powder. Still, even the unleavened bread was welcome. My recipe is one can of finely ground dried corn, a ground chunk of cow salt the size of a thumb nail, enough rendered bear or other fat to cover the bottom of your pan (my pan is an old iron skillet I found behind he ruins of the barn), three assorted birds eggs or a duck egg, and enough milk to make a paste. Bake until it looks solid but not burned to badly.
I was able to improve on my oven greatly with foundation stones I found at the barn site surrounding the old well and a plate of steel that I scrounged there. The mud that I used for mortar is mostly clay. It needs repair after every rain but I have a good source of clay, I might build a shelter over it to arrest the damage that rain causes when I get around to it. Does anyone know how to make cornbread rise with what is available in the woods?

Here's one where the forum might actually help you out, Frank. http://www.survivalmonkey.com/forum/recipes/30694-salt-raised-bread.html
You might also find other wild grains and even acorns, latter in the year, that may be ground into flour. A word of caution though; Native Americans typically only lived into their 40s partly because of tooth loss due to wear from stone particles in grains they ground. Dental hygiene is pretty important too, especially in your present life style.

It'll be interesting to see your comparison report, Frank. Does Molly do the same thing?

I think that if you are looking for a decent way to make some extra spending money or earn prizes/gear/etc then you should sign up for a pretty cool site called points2shop.com. This is basically how it works, you register with valid information and true answers because the address you put in is where your prizes will be sent and I have a canteen I got from them. You can do surveys, watch videos, do tasks, or many other things that help them and you earn money and/or prizes for your time. It is pretty cool I like it, maybe you should try it out.

Unfortunately, Frank is a little short on a good shipping address right now so it probably wouldn't be of much use to him. Besides, I don't think the UPS driver would want to cross Mr. Ghrits' path on his way to the bat cave.

If you read back from the beginning of Frank's travails you will have a better understanding
