Finally found the right place in the right location and have almost finished packing But I'll tell you one thing, moving has gotten to be a serious pain now that I prep at the level I do. Between my paranoia keeping me from hiring movers and the amount of preps we've acquired this move might just be the end of me. Just trying to keep in mind how nice it'll be sitting by the fire or on the porch listening to the wind at my new cabin versus listening to the sounds of the locals thumping through the neighborhood.
consider getting a temp storage location... move your preps ther then hire the movers... and have a month to move your preps...

Rented a uhaul trailer for preps and hired movers. Wish I had thought to get a storage unit. Would have saved me a lot of backache.
Of the multiple moves I've had to take in the past 4.5 years, I always move my 'stuff' into a storage unit before the movers come.

Yeah I sure hope so. I was living in Camden during hugo and we lost 89 trees on our 5 acres, 3 of which landed on the house but doing minimal damage. Dad's state car was crushed by a couple big pines as well. 13 days no water 17 days no power...good thing the old man wasn't a slouch on be being prepared. Since he passed a little over a year ago I have come to find how prepared he was....seems every few months I come across more things he had stashed away. Just today, which is my birthday nonetheless, I opened a couple boxes that got moved here from apparently my mom's storage unit that had 3 brand new cleaning kits, an array of ammo, a gas mask with 2 sealed filters, and an array of knives/bayonets....best birthday gift I ever got
