this week i did ham and bean soup and chili and canned it. Bought a few cases of ramen noodles ( we LIKE them). GF has rice and beans for me that she got at a liquidation center. I have a corned beef, 2 legs of lamb and some top round to can tomorrow.

I need to get more water and I think I will use my CVS bonus bucks to stock up on some tp this week.

I'll be completing our medical aid kit this week as well.

my kids are not going to prep so i started doing it for them (they are also struggling financially like so many young families). I bought a few cases of food that i know the little kids will eat. within the next week, i will start putting water in their place....we've had 2 main breaks here since we've lived here so it's definitely warranted first.

as for me, i will be making a couple of batches of soup to can. and i intend to can a little asaparagus and the last of my corned beef briskets. More water for us next week as well. I got some spices to throw in the stockpile and some canned goods. Some antibacterial wipes. I also bought 3 pineapples and a bag of huge oranges to dehydrate. I think I'm gonna need to get some oxygen absorbers for my dehydrated foods soon.

Tarps
I got three 10X12 tarps for the family cars they can make a great lean-to.

Found 'em at one of this season's first yard sales for a buck each still in the packages.

Good for the roof if some shingles get blown off in a storm.

Heck if you have enough saplings, some cordage and a big enough tarp you can even make a kayak.

 

If you're carrying them in the BOV throw in some duct tape and a cheapy grommet kit to complement it.

2 sets of "survival" playing cards (one with knots, one with survival how-to's).

Also bought two each of Datrex bars, and Mainstay bars so I can sample & determine which way I want to go on main purchase.

More BOB items that main prep, but I'm just getting started.

 

ordered 2 boxes each 7.62x54r and Br. 303.

 

Ordered some electrical terminals, poured a concrete slab, putting up two new storage buildings...

...and have been using the heck out of a replacement tiller.
