Vale "Buck" Compton Cephus, it didn't seem quite right to give your post a "like", given the that the post is about the loss of a man to his family and to the country that he loved. Just know that his devotion to his Brothers and his service to his country in a civillian capacity is acknowledged and valued. I have a well read copy of Band of Brothers at home, and will revisit it to check out any references to "Buck" Compton in the book.
Vale Lynn "Buck" Compton. Lynn "Buck" Compton features quite often in the book, "Band of Brothers". Of Compton, Ambrose wrote: Buck Compton is featured thirteen times during the course of the book. He was wounded in action (BoB pp128-129) near Nuenen How could you not love men like them?
There are more men and women like "Buck Compton" than one might credit....some are presently in Afghanistan and elsewhere...ordinary men and woman, doing extraordinary things under harsh conditions and in the kind of direst circumstances that Compton and his band of brothers frequently found themselves in. It is in the nature of humanity to offer its worst and its best when times of crisis occur....Compton and his brothers gave of their best.
