like a woman scorned Exclusive: Newt Gingrich Lacks Moral Character to Be President, Ex-Wife Says - ABC News Newt is about to be Neutered!
'Tis politics. Never a dull moment unless the only station you can get is CSPAN and they are not talking.
Nothing to be surprised about People who aspire to political office who have done things that they wouldn't want the world to know of, care about and disapprove of, shouldn't really put their hands up for the job: particularly for offices where a high degree of ethical conduct and moral probity are expected. I for one am not heart broken that this tasty morsel of hypocracy on Newt's part has come home to roost....besides, the USA has already had a Catholic President, and it didn't end well.
That's ok, next thing we know Mitt Romney will have been found hiding his 'Interest' payments in some offshore bank.
Sour grapes? Bitter revenge? Who knows. None of my business. I always try to apply more weight to a person's behavior in public rather than their behavior in the bedroom. The only person who should be worried that Newt cheated on his wife should be his new wife. Put this in a different context: Did Tiger Woods' affairs make him unfit to be a golfer? It would make him unfit to be a faithful husband....but, he's still a good golfer. Do you think his wife would be willing to embellish something in order get back at him? I do. The best preDICKtor of a person's future behavior is their past behavior. He might cheat on this wife...but that doesn't really affect whether or not he can make good political calls. Now...if I heard that he, for example, hid money in offshore Grand Caymen accounts....now that is different. Nevertheless...it doesn't really matter. I'm voting for Paul. If Romney wins the ticket, we'll just get another RHINO who will do nothing (e.g., not dismantling the IRS) and we'll be bound for the $hitter either way because the Kenyan will probably win due to the split votes and take us over the cliff into oblivion.
America has become fascinated with everybody else's lives rather than own, it is really sad how far we have de-evolved as a society. The first that came to mind for me was to listen to a song I hadn't heard in awhile. <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/46bBWBG9r2o" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
Call me old-fashioned, but I still actually, truly believe that good character and living a moral life counts a whole bunch. And Newt, IMHO, hasn't shown very much good character and his morals are those of an alley cat. Course, I could say the same about a whole bunch of politicians, but I'm gonna just keep my mouth shut bout anyone else. Kajun
Doubt they were ever gentlemen... just lacked interwebz, gossip rags, and Fox News to expose them for what they really were. I doubt ole Thomas Jefferson was the only one with a errm colorful life.
I agree with you in an ideal world, but realistically, I don't know if you can get a "good" politician. A person's character defines how they approach everything...sure. But, I just question if a moral and righteous person can be a good politician when all of his peers are scumbags--he will get eaten alive and all that is left is the scumbags. I don't know if you've read Machiavelli's The Prince, but this is not a new idea: Yes, I'm a Hobbesian cynic...probably read too much Voltaire too.

I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal?</td></tr></tbody></table>
so - if he has no problems cheating on the wife... So the guy enters into a personal, binding and legal contract with a woman. Then cheats on the person he contracted with - not once, but twice. It also says volumes (all bad) about his current wife. Don't forget, the little **** got the boot from the House (IOW, even other politicians found his behavior reprehensible) Nozzleing at the public trough (Freddy and Fanny) - no thanks. Sure, he gets a divorce, but would you trust anything this guy says? I sure as hell wouldn't. I'm shocked anyone would give this failure money, let alone publicly back him... I found his performance at the circus laughable - if you can't defend yourself - attack the messenger... We'll see what this Nov brings, I'll still hoping for the best (invasion by Martians) and prepping for the worst... I only wish there was a None of the Above as is found in Nevada...
