I just tried to look up something on Wikipedia and they've blacked it out to draw attention to some law Congress is trying to pass. Here's their sell: My representative....Hank Johnson, who is probably THE biggest moron to ever step foot on Capitol Hill. You know, the guy who thinks an island may flip over if too many people go to one side of it. Yeah, he'll look out for my interests. A man who was certainly judged and elected by the color of his skin, not by the content of his character, by his constituents. 3-25-2010_Hank_Johnson_Guam_Tip_Over.wmv - YouTube
I wish it were a skit, but it is real. You have to give that admiral credit...he never missed a beat nor questioned his mentally deficient interrogator.
If'n for some reason you need to see a particular wiki article you can still view them view selecting the cached pages on a google search.
The nanny state grooms, protects, feeds, and supports millions of such folk. On your tax dollar. He just got elected and into the spot light - ostensibly by those who the state protects, feeds, pays, and coddles.
Same reason folks in DC re-elected Marion Barry ... even after he was caught on video doing crack and other behaviors unbecoming a normal human, which does not generally include the sub-species of 'democrat.' Just like Cynthia McKinney and other ignorant, worthless, reps around here: blacks would rather vote for a black person, regardless of their character, than vote for a white person that would, however inconceivable to them, better their lives. This country was in such a hurry to elect a black president, regardless of qualifications, that I think Idi Amin or Charles Taylor could've won the last election.
A change is as good as a holiday except...... Even in the unlikely event that Idi Amin(were he alive), Charles Taylor, or even Robert Mugabe was elected without (residency) qualifications....do you think the birthers would remain stum about it??? I think that the electorate got a little tired of rich dumb white dudes stuffing up the nation. A change is good as a holiday in a Gulag camp, except if one is sent to a camp even worse than one one was already in. : O
What? You are FOR online piracy??? Such cute acronyms too, PROTECT IP = Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act SOPA = Stop Online Piracy Act What they would do is give DHS (new staff of 50 people) the power to SHUT DOWN any site that they deem fails the test. A group of 50 bureaucrats working in a vacuum (with no appeal process) can pull the plug on any site they want. This is the problem with SOPA and PIPA. The internet is the freest form of speech we've known in 100 years. They can't stand the litmus test it presents and will destroy it. This site may not exist in 5 years.
I surely hope that by then (or a lot sooner)we have a backup to the web up and running. The banana grove might be less well populated simply because of equipment requirements, but it won't be burnt off. I hope.
Well, then comes the game of cat and mouse under a different domain name and suggest that members use the MAFIAAfire plugin which auto redirects to the new URL. Interesting that Mozilla refused to pull this plugin at the request of the DHS... Mozilla fights US over access to seized sites - by Laurie Childree - Helium MegaUpload got seized today... (170 Million a year in adverts) Interesting that the kiwis rolled under US pressure. What the heck is counterfeit web content? Youtube should be seized under the same guidlines that MU fell under.
DHS should have kept their mouths shut. Because of the publicity MAFIAAfire will now be installed on substantially more systems than before.
I just ran across a website that has been seized by the .gov for "piracy." Imagine this banner (or something similar) on websites that the govt. decides you shouldn't see based on real or fabricated charges. After something like "the Fast & Furious" debacle, can we REALLY trust the justice dept. to do things on the up-and-up?
Man behind Megaupload remains defiant - FT.com EDIT: Not Swizz....Kim Dotcom. Do a search on the site for that name. I saw this on Drudge too. But, if I copy the Drudge link and repost here it doesn't work....so just go to drudge and click.
Link took me to the main ft.com page. If you are talking about music producer Swizz Beatz, (Married to Alicia Keyes), I find it ironic since their careers are based in selling music. Swizz is the CEO of MegaUpload: Swizz Beatz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Conspiricy To Commit Money Laundering"..... Humorous in a dark way - the US Government commits this crime with regularity.
