Ever have one of those days?

Okay look... we're all here for pretty much the same reason.
to talk about "Survival" issues, tips and tricks... and it's fair to assume that most of us can see signs something bad is headed our way... with that said...

You ever have one of those days when you can feel it in your bones... creeping closer... making you wonder how much time we do have to get all our prep's done???

Well today is one of those days for me and I really cant say why???
there wasn't anything on the news this morning other than your typical fluff/feel good stories....

it's just a feeling... just one of those days...

Dave, I think alot of us Monkeys been feeling it more & more in recent months. Notice Avarice's trying to increase his Prepping speed, me unable to resist stocking up on ammo for no reason as well as others.....

Best I can figure is lil things we barely notice, our subconscious is reading as signs the SHTF gonna be sooner rather than later. Personally I'm about a hair away from digging a hole in the ground & hibernating for couple years!!!

 

Wht got me was 2 weeks before Christmas Eroupe was collapsing we were in all sorts of trouble> The week before Christmas every thing is great unemployment is down people spending money like crazy. I dont alaways take the news seriously but when over nite they start protraying everything is great I automatically think something is going to happen.

 

Maybe that's what bugging me... to much good news... waiting for the other shoe to drop... not that I ever trusted a talking head to tell the truth... just what they think people want to hear

Hey Nadja... I live some 60 miles due west of Joplin Mo...
remember the Tornado that ripped through the city... BTW today it still looks bad as ever...

Anyway...last week I had to drive my son to a dentist appointment over in Web City... a small burb just north of Joplin... we drove right past one of those FEMA camps... gave me the chills too.

 

I don't want to sound like a cook but the wife had a dream about 2 weeks ago and told me that under no circumstances would we let them take us to a camp.Well a neighbor was out and about and we were talking ,this guy says out of the blue ya know my wife had a dream the other day .Now it was almost the same one that my wife had. I'm not sure that I believe in all of this but when ya have stuff like this happen something is coming and I don't think it's going to be good .
Just my 2 cents and prayer that we come out the other side in good shape !!

 

Well being a Red Skin my people don't have a lot of trust that our government will do the right thing... Sounds to me like your wife might just have some Indn blood in her veins... I'd got with her gut feeling on that one.

The Mr has always been a skeptic but he wandered into the office while I was watching the FEMA camp video up there, and now he's in the kitchen muttering to himself. Most of it is unprintable and directed at our current HCIC... but the fact that he didn't just roll his eyes and go back to Assassin's Creed tells me even he's feeling froggy.

I'd kinda slacked off my hoarding over the summer but the last few months the need to packrat has been rather overwhelming.

 

I'm not sure why people feel the need to concoct these sorts of hoaxes. There is plenty of factual information out there, and there are plenty of ominous world events out there, without concocting falsehoods. If one can't look at the recent Defense Authorization Act, and the spiraling economic situation in Europe, and the head-in-the sand attitude of our legislators concerning America's financial situation, and find a reason to prepare for hard times, there's a problem.

These sorts of hoaxes simply help to discredit preppers in the mind of the sheeple, and help to ensure that even more people are going to be unprepared when harsh realities reveal themselves.

 

I've had the same feeling's and what bothers me is I can't put my finger on it. I have alway been some what I don't want to say paranoid but just worried about my family and the what if's. This last 2 weeks the feeling has got stronger and I think that all the good news being scattered around is just away to mask the problem. I have kind of kicked up my prepping and the security of my home and property. Thing I had planned on doing in spring I just felt spring or summer could be to late. Im starting to see more of the higher ups around the area who normally are very out spoken about everything is OK we have everything under control standing back and not saying anything. My wife is really suportive about my prepping, she loves to shoot but never really says anything about whats to come even she has started talking to me every evening when I get home about whats going on and expressing her concerns of something bad coming. I agree with Cephus I pray we all come out the other side ok.

 

I figured those videos with your President's "2012" were a hoax, pretty obvious that they were recorded on another disaster but I couldn't catch any reference as to where it might be! And all those little blurry gaps were breaks and splicings in the reels I suppose.

As far as gut-feelings are concerned, I have mentioned in quite a few of my posts over the last few weeks that I felt this incredible urgency to intensify my preparations. Something else that seems a bit strange to me - after months and months of almost continual disasters of one sort of another (weather, wars and rumours of wars, disease reports, and so on) have you noticed how QUIET and PEACEFUL everything has become over the last while? Some violent weather activity, but no earthquakes, volcanoes or big disasters. Syria has been relegated, if not to the back pages, at least to the middle. It's been quite while since I sat in front of my TV, saying over and over, Oh, those poor people....

There hasn't even been a plane crash and we always seem to have something like that around Christmas. Not that I want these things to happen......but their absence worries me, it's not the norm.

So, I can't help feeling it's the proverbial calm before the storm....am I being hyper-sensitive with no real reason? Am I just writing a load of tommy-rot? Has anyone else noticed this lull and wondered about it?

I must have had a few dreams that bothered me, and the funny thing is that I don't remember the dreams at all. I just woke up with a sense of urgency that I should load more magazines!

If my figgurin is korect, 558 more new registered users than last year.
rate started picking up in last quarter of 2010.
eyeball avg for 2010 was 180ish / month
eyeball avg for 2011 was 230ish / month.

The real answer is:
"We're from the government and we are here to help you?!"

 

If one looks back at history the signs of impending doom were all around for all to see. Few if any looked. To historians they are so obvious but while living in those times not quit so. We figure things out is our subconscious and it knows what to fear. We are then driven to get ready or run, its primal.

 

The bad thing I feel is there are so many things going on in the US and around the worl that O-duma$$ has got us tied up in. I meen any thing could happen there are a thousand different threats that we could face. Along with the possiblity if certain things happen it could lead to a total economic/ goverment collapse then we weill have that to deal with as well. If thats not the first thing to set it off and what ever it is I just cant help but to think and believe what ever happens we will have the blue helments on US soil to deal with and I think that is what our goverment is working toward.
