DHS Cares about civil and constitutional rights

Is it just me or do any of you find it interesting that the same people that want to kill you or put you in a gulag for having a gun and some beans. That are in the process of taking away every right you have. This people are so worried about the civil and constitutional rights of non-citizens. Now I do believe everyone one has the same god given rights. It seems like our government recognizes the rights of everyone but the citizens that give them their power.

I remember when we were the worst country in the world because we had people in gitmo and did not let them a have a lawyer or put them on trial. Now a lot of the same people just gave them selfs the power to do that to anyone am I missing something.

 

As was done previously, all individuals booked into the Maricopa County jail will be screened to determine if they are removable from the United States," the agency said. Those arrested for criminal offenses who are in the country illegally will be "removed from the United States in line with our priorities."

Again double speak from DHS since they have almost placed a moratorium on deportations to satisy MALDEF.

Talked with a frustrated Border Patrol Agent recently. He said they (border patrol) can't do anything these days. Good guy but won't be working for them long because he actually wants to uphold our laws and do something about lawbreakers.

I'm sure DHS will put him on the bad guys list too.

 

The reason for this is Sheriff Arpaio's is respected and has alot of pull with the working class of people along with not kissing Big Brother's A$$. They are wanting to discredit him and try to make him look bad in the public eye. I kinda had a thought that this was coming Big Brother is going to start taking out the spot light resistance our leaders who make it known that they don't agree with Goverment control. The sheriff fights for gun rights, rights of his voters and the people within his community. Big Brother don't like that and they know the only L.E.O. that can lawfully tell Big Brother to get lost is a Sheriff when it comes to his jurisdiction. A sheriff and his Deputyies are not hired by State, County, or local goverment. The Sheriff is elected by the people and his Deputies are selected by him. So that makes us the only L.E.O. of the people, Deputies are the only L.E.O.'s that the public can take a petition and have that Deputy removed from service weather the Sheriff agrees or not as can they the Sheriff. That is a threat to Big Brother they can control all other L.E.O. but if you have a good Sheriff with back bone Him and his men are your L.E.O.'s

 

If I've gotta deal with law enforcement I prefer the OSP if possible. The troopers seem far better educated in the law than what the locals and county folks are and if they don't know the dispatch actually knows how to look it up or ask someone with the knowledge. Haven't dealt a whole lot with the local deputies but the Sheriff himself is a good guy. Very approachable and available to the citizens the way all elected officials ought be.

 

I'm surprised they waited this long to go after Arpaio...

I generally resent the use of the term or any variation of L.E.O.
Law Enforcement officers did not exist until the 1980s. We used to have Police officers, members of our community that protected and served the community. Now we have Law Enforcement Officers; whoopee ****!

 

Personally, I miss the old "Peace Officers". They kep tthe peace and protected their communities without military weapons and SWAT tactics. If it came to needing that kind of thing, a call to the Governor brought the local National Guard to help.
Back then, we looked up to our police and deputies. They were a part of us, not a breed apart.

 

Seawolf1090 Completely right and it is very sad that people now just outright fear and have no trust of law enforcement. When I was growing up you could go up and talk to a police officer they were friendly and helpful now you try to talk to one you don't know you will find most are on some head trip I can't even begin to understand.

 

Yep, Officer Friendly in the blue uniforms and lowquarter shoes is gone, replaced by ninja blackclad kevlarhelmeted machinegun toting jackbooted doorcrashers.

Not entirely, of course, but that's the general impression. Still shaking my head over the video of the Pima County (Tucson area) deputies literally hopping and crawling all over each other to get in a few shots through young Guereno's kicked-in door at the already killed kid in his own hallway.

Of course, all justified by the department after a search turned up a picture of a Catholic church saint. And nothing else.

 

It's true when I went through the academy dino's still roamed the earth but we were told become a part of the community, get on first names with them. If you got challenged handle it and tell the people that seen it you were sorry for what they had to see. I still today when I stop a vehicle if it's a man with his family I have the man come to the back of his vehicle. I don't correct him infront of his family out of respect I joke with the kid in the back seat and tell him I need to ask dad a question and he will be right back. I know or at least in my time dad is head of the house and has final say. It shocks the family when he is wrong or made a mistake. If at all possible I try not to handcuff dad or mom infront of the kids and I tell mom or dad give them a hug and kiss. Then I tell the kids they are going to help me and will be back in a little while. Today officers are trained keep a distance from the public and it is no longer get to know the citizens it is make contact's. As for the family end of it well mom and dad shouldn't have did what they did. I tell all boots forget the Gastopo tactic's they learned when it comes to dealing with good family's where dad or mom just screwed up. Even if mom and dad are $h!theads they are still mom and dad to the babyies and those babies love them.

 

Good on you, A-Dog... a man with a heart in a uniform sure to be respected by all whom you've encountered.

I have nothing but respect for our deputies. Every time I've dealt with them it has been nothing but positive. I've had them tell me that they are here to serve the people of the county, they also still wear a traditional uniform.

I thought it was a sad day when our new Sheriff gave the OK to stop wearing the traditional grey cowboy hat. Now you only see it worn by the color guard deputies.

 

My local Deputy is a unique fellow. We are on the edge of the National Forest. He has dual jurisdiction as a County Sheriff Deputy AND as a State Wildlife Officer. He has the only drug dog on the force at this time and gets to work a lot of "VIP" events. He also carries a 4-wheeler in back of his official PU truck and patrols the forest - good feller, and doesn't throw his weight around, but if you screw up on his beat, you WILL regret it!
I like it when he drops by the local range to make sure all is safe and well.
He reminds me of the Old West Sheriff who took his duties very seriously, to PROTECT the people and enforce the laws. Good man.
