Not to mention that the idea of us "allowing" a country to have something or not is where the whole problem starts.

 

Israel's undeclared possession of nuclear weapons scares me far more than Iran possessing them. The Israeli's have proven themselves to be kings of self fulfilling prophesy and in the event they got their ass handed them in a conventional war there is no doubt in my mind that Israel would resort to the use of tactical nuclear weapons or worse (Google "Samson Option"). Then we have nations such as India with lax security in possession of them and an unstable Pakistani regime in possession of them. Iran is the least of our nuclear concerns IMO.
