I assume, then, that you agree that the right to free speech also makes any way or anywhere you wish to say something, and whatever you must do to "facilitate" your speech OK also.

I really love the liberal propensity for extrapolating rights to truly silly degrees in order to justify everything they want...and so-called "conservatives" who want to do the same and then claim adherence to constitutional principles.

The United States Constitution is not - in the least - ambiguous about citizens right's in regard to arms. Neither is my opinion in regards to the citizen's rights under that Constitution. Further: Point a loaded gun at me, or mine, or any innocent in my presence, you better shoot me first. And you d a m n e d well better do it quickly. If you think that philosophy is "silly", well, you have my heartfelt sympathy.

Odds are if Federal Carry was passed, we'd ALL be Held to California or D.C Standards!!!

 

I know a few year ago and Im not sure where I seen it but there was talk of forming a Federal permit. You would have to first obtain your state permit then apply for a Federal permit and jump through some hoops and spend some money. The down fall I think just like someone had stated earlier was the Feds would require training. Being an LEO I can say the Feds are always coming up with new ideas to waste our money to keep officers trained. They do not understand if something works and its not broke leave the damn thing alone don't try to fix it. Then my next down fall with problem I have is I want the Goverment to know as little as possible about me and my firearms. I woulld almost bet that they would try and use it to track US citizens weapons all they would have to do is make it a requirment inorder to hold a permit all guns in your home has to be registered in your name and if found with an unregistered firearm you would lose your permit and be fined. Plus you would only be able to carry approved weapons that you have on file with them. Which some say IM PARANOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping that this would be a great backdoor to carrying concealed in a state in which it is nigh on impossible to obtain a CCW (think Kalifornia). Simply get your Utah permit and carry in Kali, but that is only for non-Kalifornians. If this passes and BHO signs it (not likely in my book) as a Kalifornia resident I am still required to have a local CCW.

 

I believe that the individual states should work this out themselves.

This is just another means of FedGov telling States what to do and further reinforcing a bad trend.

 

There is one other aspect to consider. In Georgia, as in several other states, the CCP is issued by the court. What about the "full faith and credit" that the states are to give to the "public acts, records, and court proceedings of the other states"?

 

You're right, they have been infringed - and we've allowed that to occur. It is now what it is. If you carry a concealed weapon in a state that you do not have a permit/license/permission to do so you will be arrested and most likely convicted. Then you won't have to worry about it because now you're a felon and can't own guns anyway. Anyone want to take up the moral charge here and test this theory? I don't, and I won't see a lot of other hands going up I'm sure.

We need to reclaim the rights we have had but allowed the government to take away, but it needs to be done legally or you'll get locked up and have NO voice. I don't want the Feds in the CCW business; its a 10th Amendment issue under the 2nd Amendment.

I'm trying not to be political here, but I can't stand to see the same stupid rhetoric bandied about - "The 2nd Amendment is my permit!" will put you in prison. we don't get to disregard the laws we don't like, we get to change them.
