Why would anyone need to be "trained" for civil disobedience? I'm betting they were trained on behavior that Thoreau would not approve of.

This group never changes--they will protest anything. Have you ever looked at these people, they generally look the same, travel long distances to protest, and give the overall appearance of dopers, which leads me to think they don't have a job (i.e., they're definitely not going to be a teller at the bank).

We'll see about the non-violence...they're always itching to break/burn/loot something.

 

Hey, maybe they don't know why they are protesting but I for one welcome it!

I for one will be observing the tactics that the jackboots and hired guns take with the crowds.

Between the events and when the dollar collapses won't be long enough for them to change their Tactics and training. So they will just repeat what they know.

Kind of like the redcoats. It's been drilled into them over and over. But of course, the best chance is not to come up against in a fair fight. If you find yourself in a fair fight situation, you need to get a new STO

 

Look closely at the fringes of the crowds - should be able to see the Socialist/Communist drivers pushing the mindless crowds to a dangerous frenzy.

I haven't researched this too much, what I did find, they *claim* it will be non-violent protesting. That's why they call it a Day Of Rage...

This is why I am a a$$ on using a real method to protest. This message gets lost in translation and the only thing people see is gratuitous violence and out of control idiots.

I know they are saying there will be no trouble but alot of the time different groups will put people through out the group to start some form of heated statement and at that point it spreds like wild fires. Then next thing you know in come the men in black with sticks, mace, rubber bullets

What's America got to rage about ? Those in "poverty" here live better than kings of old.

News story the nightly "news" this evening showed a line of kids 'living in poverty' getting fed a meal by some bunch in LA. Scan the faces....one little kid ( I mean 5-6 years old ) has a gold ear ring in both ears. OK, assume it's fake gold, it STILL cost something, plus getting both ears pierced.

The trouble with poverty in this country is often a matter of priorities.

Nuther example: Lady comes into my wife's office at school today ( she works in the central office, not a school itself ) and wants to know where she can get a free backpack for her kid....lady is COVERED in tat's......thousand bucks worth of ink work easy, wife says.....but looking for a 5 buck pack for her kid.

P_R_I_O_R_I_T_I_E_S........seems they got lost somewhere along the way.

 

When 'entitlements' outweigh 'rights', it's time to start over.......

You know something funny I find about these groups notice all the places they go and start this. They only go to safe locations and protest the unfare and mistreatment of people and people's rights. which I agree if people are being mistreated and their rights are being walked on by anyone people should stand up and fight to be herd. What I cant understand about these international group's that are traveling the world to protect the people, why don't they go to North Korea, China, Japan, The Middle East and put on these mass protest where people are being killed and beaten for what they believe or for a female speeking out of turn. I'll tell you why they know that those Countries will not allow them to prevoke civil unrest and possibly they will have to defend what they believe with their life and at that point it becomes well not so important. To these type of people freedom is free unless they have to make sacrifice.

WTO riot instigators came from Eugene? We lived in Everett during the Seattle WTO riots. My mother paid more attention to them than I did at the time, because she lived through the Watts riots.
