This was a friends description of this series :
[FONT=&quot]This is what Bill shared in Ruston on the 3rd. I’m blown away. You better have 3 hours b/c you will not stop watchin this. I promise. It was another moment for me like that day Lyndsay Williams put it all together and it made sense. Well Bill makes the stories of Cain, Enoch, Nimrod, Esau, etc… all those guys in the beginning come to light and its exactly what we see playing out right in front of us.
    Thanks J.

I have always wondered if the name God wasn't a bit generic. There are a lot of references to his Name but we use the Generic versions in reverence instead. I suppose my coworkers would be alright if I just called them Man?

Thou shall have no other gods before me and Hallowed be his name kinda clash.

    dunno
Relevant or not, some of these topics are ones that I've questioned and tried to suss out for years.

Native American Indians knew YHWH's name

this is an overlap from the who is israel thread

Native American Indians knew YHWH's name Many don't realize that the Native American Indians knew YHWH's name before others came to this land.

‪The Early Native Americans Knew The Sacred Name YHWH‬‏ - YouTube

YHWH's name is all through history, songs, stories and ways of life. My studies only pertain to the E.Shawnee, E.Cherokee, Powhatan, Hopewell and Fort Ancients. For this is my family line.

    YHWH
    YHVH
    YOWAH

    YaHVeH

What did God tell Moses to tell Pharoah and the Israelites? He said to tell them "I AM" sent you. What does that translate into from ancient arabic? Jesus told up how to pray in the Lord's prayer---"Our Father.....". I know Jesus did not speak English but the sentiment should be the same---speak of Him in deep and awed reverence.

I know 06 ,but here's the deal ,through this thread you've learned and been introduced to I Am's name .There is a commandment that deals with HIS name and we both want to honor the Creator as he's instructed and there are many names in many religions for a creator but only one Creator as you and I worship.Whether you say Yahweh or Yashua or ... there is a difference and there is POWER in the name as well as the BLOOD.

If you go into the Strong's Concordance you'll find the name he gave Mose's ,it's just been translated out...

I know you love him and are a true disciple ,is it so hard to change,or look at the difference? Is it a matter of pride or how you'd be looked or thought of or just curious ?

    I AM THAT I AM.

Some thing about that strikes a cord in my soul. God is supreme and in control of everything.

I believe there is power in the Hebrew names for sure, but also in the names in the Bible like Jesus Christ.

    his name revealed

The name YHWH which when the consonants are sounded out it is Yahweh. 7000 times was his name removed from our bibles and replaced with LORD which was the title for Baal. Elohim is what has been translated as God.
Yahushua is (Jesus) which means Yahweh is salvation. His name is in the son and through Yahushua, Yahweh saves.
Some say Yeshua which means straight up Salvation. But his name Yahweh was illegal back in the day to say aloud or you would be killed.
Here's a link that will show you just how many names in the bible were used with Yahweh's name and the meaning behind their names are for a direct purpose also.
Here is the link. Its quite astounding. Instead of thinking of it in terms of....oh man now I have all this to learn, who cares......think of it as a BLESSING that we are able to know his name and that in this age of information, what has been concealed is now being revealed....just like Yahushua said would happen.

    Paul Taught Torah

little off topic ,but since it's my thread .I don't know this writer ,however I can agree with his writings as I've discovered the same things over the last several yrs and Paul was a brilliant scholar of Torah .I was reading some of Pauls teachings this AM and wanted to share and will include a couple of recent vids made by Brad Scott of WildBranch ministry for your enjoyment.

    1. Under the new covenant, God writes his Torah on the hearts and in the minds of His people.
The promise of the new covenant from Jeremiah 31 is quoted in Hebrews 8 (and 10).
But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises. For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said :
"The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws [torah] in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear. (Hebrews 8:6-13)
Several things should be noted about the passage above. It says that the new covenant is founded on better promises - it says nothing about better laws. The only fault with the first covenant was that the people did not remain faithful. Under the first covenant the people were responsible for putting God's laws in their hearts (Deut. 6:6), which they failed to do. The new covenant fixes that fault because God promises to put his Torah in the hearts and minds of his people. Under the new covenant God promises to forgive wickedness - it says nothing about redefining wickedness by changing the laws.
At the time Hebrews was written, the first covenant had not yet disappeared -- it "will soon disappear". Compare that with what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 7:31, "For this world in its present form is passing away." And John says in 1 John 2:17, "The world and its desires pass away." The New Testament authors expected an imminent end of the world, so what they wrote agrees with what Jesus said about the law remaining "until heaven and earth disappear" (Matt. 5:18).
The Greek word for obsolete means "be made old". The author of Hebrews used that same Greek word earlier in Hebrews 1:11 to describe the foundations of the earth and the heavens, which still exist today and are currently essential for our daily survival.
Part of the new covenant promise in this passage is not yet fulfilled -- "No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest." This will happen sometime in the future. Will the first covenant disappear before the new covenant is fully implemented?
God promised to make the new covenant with the house of Israel. Part of the good news that Paul preached to the Gentiles is that they can have a part in the promises and covenants by becoming heirs with Israel by faith in Jesus (instead of by the laws regarding ancestry.)

    I agree.

I think it's easy for anyone to lose site of their relation ship with Jesus Christ and focus more on works. The Lord can work through you to lead 100 people to him but if you lose sight of your personal relationship them you are missing out big time.

I do definitely agree that it doesn't get any better than the original Hebrew, even some of the Greek translations are inaccurate.

When you say Yahweh was illegal to say, did that happen in the Bible days or later in history?
