i think that would be a good name for a new party
i think the name speaks loudly in regards to ideals
we definitely are no longer sovereign in our own homes
big brother has us by the short hairs and pullin us all in deeper

if this was to be a political party, what would all of you suggest
in the way of platform and ideology?

I love the idea but alas, it is probably too late.
I think if a party and a candidate actually had a chance of succeeding, well, TPTB would not let it stand.

I'd actually like to see the states regain their strength and the fed govt to be scaled way way back.

I'd like to see a party that backed the gold standard

Someone that supported states rights rather than abdicating rights to the idiots in DC

Someone that ran on dissolving the FED

Bringing our boys and girls back from the sand box

I'm sure there are a lot more ideas that others have but here is my start.

Ban lawyers from being politicians. A Government "Of the People" should have members from The People, not from the various legal universities.......
Use the lawyers as TOOLS of Government, not the Government itself.

 

A third party doesn't have to be big enough to win... take the George Wallace approach. You just have to be big enough to tie up the electoral college and cause the other 2 major parties to bend to your will and then hand over the presidency. Of course, excellent follow through is imperative in this. A third party could win House seats easy enough (happens all the time). The Senate is tougher, but not unheard of.

 

so why dont we get people together and make a party

that is what the local tea parties are trying to do. Do an online search for them. Almost every state, major city, and county has them and they are growing. I have vowed to stop my personal insanity. ie; voting for the lesser evil instead of throwing my vote away voting for the independent with no chance that most fills my needs. The independent will most likely now get my vote

Its past time for a Nationalist Party.

The problem is the rules in all 50 states are set up for our 2
Party systems. This makes fielding independents almost impossibility
To get on a ballet, hence they have to clear hurdles that the 2
Major party’s do not. That is the rub it isn’t a level playing field.

We need election reforms which empowers the people to field different
People. That is not going to happen.
Add to that the money that is spent electing of our elected officials.

There not going to be any change, more the same.

I see the the majority of tea party candidates in fighting with the repubs.

I fully understand what you are saying, but do you really believe that any Republican or Democrat is going to give a flying firetruck about anything except Money, Power, and his Handlers Influence on how and what he or she does. Are you ready for another Bush? Certainly you don't believe the major two party system is anything but corrupt? We have to break the cycle or let the SOB's break the system, as well as the proverbial camels back with that last intolerable act. Then and only then will there be change for the better. Better to let Lord Obummer get reelected one more time, so there is absolutely no doubt in every freakin Koolaid drinking democratic voting idiots mind that, "maybe, just maybe we were wrong, and there is something better. Republicans are only the flip side of the same damn coin. Do what ever your heart tells you you have to, but for me there has to be an independent party candidate for me to hitch my wagon to. This board, was only my second board ever. There is no way you can compare this board to any other on an even level. This board is unique and different in a very good way! I have joined a few other boards where I mostly lurk. This is home, and where I am comfortable. This board is the best. not jmho I am sure!

I am so with you. I've been voting independant since my very first vote when i turned 18. I've wanted a change for over 20 years. I thought that the D or R after their names stood for (R)apist or (D)ebaucher. My bad.

Now we have Rhinos and Teabaggers added into the mix.

just different sides of the same trick coin.

I'm thinking that after the upcoming collapse of our society, we will break out the constitution and bill of rights and do a better job the second time around.

Right now, we have the best government that money can buy. Just ask the lobbyists, I'll wager that they will agree!

 

this board is definitely a step up from the other one
but, there are some good people on the other ones that havent found their way here yet
