ok guys & girls let do this one for fun my three basic working handgun's for basic use around the place 1-colt 1911 45.acp pistol for main go to pistol 2-S&W M 49 hammerless 38.specail revolver as back up pistol or summer time ccw carry 3-S&W m329 44 mag as field revolver for use as need so what are you three handguns for shtf
1) Sig Sauer Model P220 or FNP .45 Tactical (can't decide) 2) S&W Model 629 .44 Magnum 3) S&W Model 63 .22 LR (or other semi-auto .22LR I may or may not own in the future) That covers my tactical scenarios, small game gettin', and large game (long range) hunting. Fun topic! ETA: I might trade the 629 for a S&W 586. .357 makes a good defensive or hunting caliber back here in the East. Uses less powder and lead as well. The use of the rather common .38 SPL kind of helps support the change from a .44 mag to .357 mag. .38 is more common that .44 (magnum or special). I will probably change this post again in the future...
1. Browning HiPower in 9mm My basic Travel Weapon. 2. Mommas Dan Wesson Stainless .357 Mag Pistol Pac Her basic Travel Weapon. 3. S&W Model 9 in Blue with 8" barrel Our basic Hand Cannon.
Sig P250 Full Size 9mm Sig P6 Compact 9mm Kel tec P3AT .380 (my pocket carry) Sig P232 .380 (wife's purse carry) Ruger Mk III .22 Ruger 10/22 .22 Standardized on caliber and have a backup gun in each caliber.
My Ruger P95 - EDC - loaded with Hydra Shoks only (I shoot FMJ hand loads at the range) My Trunk Monkey has a Hi Point C9 The wife has Taurus PT709 Slims We also have standardized caliber amongst our group. Every one of us has at least one back up pistol - even the LEO members of the group prefer 9mm.
Glock 23 - EDC, main go to Glock 27 - secondary carry Glock 22 - Main house handgun. Most of my spare mags are for the G22 as they fit the other 2 glocks. They all use the same ammo, and most parts can be interchanged between them (yes some exceptions).
XDm .45 S&W Model 64 .38 Ruger MkII-22lr... Have a few other's,However these are the one's that see the most daylight...
Taurus 92 .22lr Colt Trooper MKIII .357 Star PD .45acp Revolvers are not ammo sensitive and can be fed with whatever we can scrounge. A .357 can take any game from squirrels and rabbits with light .38 loads to deer and hogs with heavy .357 loads. The .45 is my carry weapon.
Yeah, but i'm not the only one going to be using the tools. And it might also be able to feed for multiple generations if they decide to outlaw/ban ammo or components. ;-)
I've got the Colt Official Police in 38 spl. or the Ruger Security Six in .357 mag, or the S&W M59 in 9mm for home defense. The Ruger Mark II and the Walther P22 are for plinking or small game. The Ruger Blackhawk in .357 mag is what I carry at the deer lease. The Thompson/Center Contender in .22lr,.357mag,.222rem,.44mag,30/30win,and .30 herrett is just sitting in the gun safe since we don't have ihmsa matches anymore. Someday I will end up with another .357 blackhawk, a Super Blackhawk in 44mag, a Hawes .357 and .22mag, a RG .38 spl, another Thompson/Center Contender with bbls. in .22mag,6mmPPC,.357herrett,.30herrett,and 30/30win. As you can see my family is handgun poor. And don't get me started in on the rifles.
I forgot one. My wife has a Ruger Bearcat that she carries at the deer lease just for the hell of it.
