So what your own personal guilty little we have in our lifes that we do for ourself in life here list of my personal small little guilty pleasure i have in my very simple life flavored high end sugar for the coffee and other food Flavored high end hot Chocolate drink flavored coffee creamers Flavored peanut butter good cut of steak from Omaha Steak company to put on the grill good all you can eat buffet like hometown buffet good old fashion greasy spoon place that serves a great breakfast bottle of marker mark bottle of cognac old fashion bbq place So what are simple things that you like in your world
Shiner Bock. Loud guns, lots of ammo. A great big Texas sized Chicken Fried Steak with all the trimmings. A HUGE portion of home made BBQ brisket, slathered in my patented blow yer head off sauce. Mama Falc's tater salad. Just sitting and reading to my kids. One in my lap and one under each arm...now that is the greatest pleasure of all.
Tea. I have teas from Africa, Britain, Ireland, and other wonderful places I am sure. Did you know that there is only one type of tea plant in the world? Yup. The difference in teas, such as "green" and "black" are determined by the drying time and the way they are dried/processed. Sugar. I have to use 100% demerara sugar for my tea. I am always trying to drink my tea without sugar, just to condition myself, but I still revert back from time to time. Food. I love food. I love to cook. I will go days at a time without food, just to test myself. Most times I eat only once per day with a light snack in the morning. And I will occasionally eat foods I store, but from time to time I like to throw a hunk of salmon on the grill, or a nice T-bone. Yes, food can be quite awesome, really. I need to run more. I have 2 bills in life aside from the standard utilities in the northeast. One is my truck insurance payment, the other is internet. I only use a prepaid cellphone, which comes to about $20 every 90 days. I have zero debt. I own everything I have.
I enjoy coffee, I buy beans from all over the world at Costco and grind them fresh daily. Another passion is accurate rifles.
Mine is Pizza from a local resturant that uses corn meal tossed in the brick oven and then slides the pizza on to bake. That pizza oven is older than I am. According to my kids, that is really really old. The Missus is Earl Grey Tea. I clean out the local Wally World every time I go there. The most i got at one time was 12 boxes right after they stocked it. Other than that I guess it would be electricity.
Hmmmmm...Other than eating at the local Greasy Spoon? None of those are things I'd feel "guilty" about ....Guess I think of "Guilty" Pleasures as ones I really don't want to tell anyone about , and know it's not good for me, either Physically, Emotionally, Spiritually, or Intellectually..... Coffee Beans? Tea? Holding my kids? Those are Joys in life...Nothing I'd feel guilty pleasure about...Electricity? As long as it's available, and I can pay it...It's a necessity....and a pleasure. But I don't feel guilty about it.. Now watching some Reality TV shows.....that's something I don't tell people and feel guilty about... Eating Marshmellow Fluff out of the Jar with a spoon...ditto. And that's all I'm admitting to right now....
Every time I fill the scooter with mid grade (she won't run very well on 87 octane) I get these pangs of guilt since I know there is more stocking up and preparations to be made. But as soon as the potholes get filled and the road opens up, it all goes away. There's something about leaving cagers behind that sweeps all guilt away.
As i get old some of the most simple pleasure right now are the most guilty type pleasure ..my grandkids are moveing away from the area and that is really hurting right now and come in my contract is up with the resort in Hawaii and it not going to be renewed and so i going back to doing the thing i was i planning on doing in the first place retire and go and live in Az or NC area .. that the one area i have not made my mind up on and i learning toward them in Nc to be with all the kids and grandkids ..
Knob Creek Bourbon, Bulgai Green Tea shower gel, Barbers shave every morning with straight razors and hot towels.
In the winter, laying in bed on Sunday morning with a 5 lb Sunday newspaper to read and a pot of tea - tea variety changes from week to week, it all depends on my mood. In summer, same routine but sitting on the porch.
The good: Surrounded by good friends, a nicely grilled steak, garlic mashed potatoes, catching fish, killing a deer. Enjoying some Stranahan's whiskey with my lover. Sleeping late. A day at the range. The bad: I want to retire as an old kook, riding high rise elevators and cutting nasty gas, and when people complain I'm going to look at them like a liberal, and drool all over someones shoes.
I used to fill guilty about watching Jerry Springer.... But he's a trip..I no longer watch him though.. However i will never fill guilty about.. Fine women Fine whiskey...or. Fine cigar's...
Making and listening to Good Music, around a fire with friends and family... I only feel guilty be cause invariably i have other things to do...
Having just moved away from NC after 30 years of residence I would say this...choose CAREFULLY where you move to. Much of the eastern part of NC is awash in hog farms. (and I do literally mean awash) You couldn't pay me to move to the Charlotte area. The northwestern part of the state is the best.
I live and farm in the eastern part of NC and can provide information on anything that you want to know for this part of the state.... other than FRAN/FLOYD the hog farms were not an issue... (more sewage from the cities than the farms... tho the farm spin kept them out of the news) I agree with the Charlotte are as not being a great area...
