Ended up at Costco for an unplanned shopping trip and bought the following for storage:

    Two cases organic tomato paste
    Two cases organic tomatoes
    4 Jars organic peanut butter
2 jars Nutella (not organic - a treat!)
    1 Case Cliff bars
    1 Case Z Bars
    1 Case Fruit Leathers
    6 Paack Canned Chicken
    2 Lg. Mayonaise
2 Lg. Jars Peppercini (Pregnant craving and a good deal!)
    AAA Batteries

Apparently my above mentioned dent corn and clover seeds will not be arriving as they were out of stock.

As economical as those giant size products are, keep in mind that certain things require refrigeration after opening (think mayo). Might be better to get small sizes

A day of converting wheel weights into game takers.

Oh yeah, and some good steel for knife-making.

Put out five cherry trees, five plum trees, and six saga palms. The saga is a great source of starch.

Put away another couple of 1kg freeze dried coffees, 5 kilo iodised salt, more AA and AAA batteries, a staple gun with 10000 staples, 100m x 1.5m roll of heavy duty plastic, another 20 body bags (I work at a funeral parlour )

Bought some fabric dye in brown, green and black because I have a heap of stuff I want to cam up.

A new toy - Garmin eTrexH personal navigator (GPS), because we keep getting a little bit lost in the bush at night when we do patrolling exercises :p
We go alright with standard compass navex in daylight, but moonless nights are unforgiving and I'm getting too old to be wandering around at 2 in the morning when I could be sitting by a fire.

    Read the following books
    "Emergency War Surgery" NATO; Paperback
"Where There Is No Dentist" Murray Dickson; Paperback
"Where There Is No Doctor" David Werner; Paperback
As having them on the shelf is of no use if you haven't read them. At that point they are not preps if it's not in your noggin.

    Let me say this first:
NOTE you should always seek professional trained medical staff to treat injuries, illnesses and health conditions FIRST. You can cause more harm to the patient than good if you make the wrong diagnosis, procedure, administer the wrong treatment.

These book won't tell you how to perform brain surgery but after reading i am confident that i could fill a cavity, pull a tooth, deliver a baby (eww and ouch). Stitch you up, set a bone, fix a dislocated joint, prevent infection, debride a wound, administer an injection, I especially like telling my kids that I can stitch them up and might even take great pleasure in it to boot! Stop major bleeding, and treat mild to medium burns. Again, I'm going to stabilize and transport to local medical professional even if it's a vet first before attempting diagnosis/treatment.

The books talk about symptoms and signs of illnesses/injuries and what recommended medications/antibiotics where applicable and potential treatment options.

Basically around the farm injuries. Now however there are limitations to what i've read. Gunshots with sever tissue, bone or organ damage, hidden internal injuries resulting in internal bleeding, extensive burns over large portions of the body, poisonings, serious injuries to the eye itself. Well, i can make you comfortable with my preps but we are going to need professional help. And if there is no professionals available, you may die or loose body parts. Yeah i learned how to do an amputation if need be but with all the nerves, blood vessels/arteries, it's going to be touchy.

I've got another important point to make, Can you or could you take a scalpel to your spouse or child? There is nothing wrong with you if you can't, not everyone can do it. But you must be sure in your mind. If you can't see yourself intentionally cutting a significant person potentially causing them pain, seeing the anguish/fear in their eyes. You are going to need to make sure that you have a few people on your team capable of it. Not going to be as big a problem in non family units but when you start talking the small mom, dad, offspring, grand parents, parents. We've discussed this at the VisuBunker. Yep all of us could easily cut one another. [beat] I think we might harbor some ill will against each other subconsciously or maybe I shouldn't have let the kids watch SAW through SAW5 recently (just kidding on the movie night). i think that most are gonna want to be numbed up a bit though before our love ones come after us with a knife.

Next book up is "The Encyclopedia of Country Living" Carla Emery to put away into the brain. Wife has already read it, and the "Where There Is No Doctor". She says i get to play dentist because she says there is no way she could pull a tooth out. not strong enough. I told her i wanted to play the doctor, she rolled over and went to sleep. Damn so now i'm here chatting with you simians. Any girl monkeys into swinging? from tree to tree that is? What were you thinking. ;)

Anyway, read, remember, share and inform. If it's in your brain, they can't take it away.

Now were did i put that rum. Peace out.

well that aught to be good for 550 zombies, if you can get them stacked 3 deep and not wearing body armor for the 308, head shots at 50 yards for the 22 one each, and really close range for the 410, pick your target, guts, groin, or throat..... so don't miss and get more ammo.....lol

Put up three gallons of strawberries, traded for 1200 223 cases and boolits for them, and two lbs of powder from another gent. Our newly planted fig bushes are leafing out. All six made it. The thornless blackberries are doing fairly well-lost six during the winter. All our plum/peach/pear/and apple trees are doing fine. Should have a bumper crop of fruit.

Congratulations on getting started early in life at prepping! Isn't it the pits to be soooo young and smart, and be surrounded by soooo many stupid people? ..... LOL. Welcome to the Monkey Tree. ..... What do you have that shoots .308?

Nothing that shoots .308 yet, just collecting for a future purchase, or for trading in a S.H.T.F. situation once I have it loaded up ( my father and I have a re-loader, first prepping purchase really.) And it is kinda dis-heartening that almost all the people I know don't have a clue of what to do in a emergency or apocalypse. Makes me feel real smart;).
