Has anyone had success dehydrating your own meals or is that something you can only do with freeze drying? Something like a simple beef stew with, base, meat and veggies. Do you make the meal then dry or dry individual parts first and then combine them?

Thanks for the link. I'm having a hard time finding low salt storable foods. They are loaded with salt.
Does the saltiness help preserve the items better? You could store up dry goods like rice, wheat, and beans. I think some companies are selling low/er sodium soups and canned veg too.
