COLORADO LONG TERM CAMPING TRIP AGAIN I am planning another trip to Colorado in couple of months. Last trip was to San Isabel National Forest just outside of Bueno Vista. I am looking for an area where I can set up a camp for 2-6 months and not any issues with Law Enforcement. Would like an area where could fish,and hunt small game;Squirrels and rabbits. Also would like an area with the least Human contact as possible. Any Suggestions?

Well, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. First you have to wait till someone from Colorado reads your question, then maybe or maybe they won't know of a place. If you were asking about venison recipes you would get a lot of replies, just about everyone cooks venison. See what I am saying? Boogie boogie boo.
Sorry brother I dont do Colorado I do know of some places in Iowa, or even Minnestota,S. Dakota, but nothing in Colorado. that place is way to overun with libs for me to ever want to go there. Even if you wanted go to Alaska I could point you the way to a guy I know up there. Sorry bro I wish you the best.
Would love to go to Alaska just little to far for me right now :-( Got a place I go in Colorado that is real nice area. Was looking for a different spot to try this year.
Believe me bro I understand. I used to do extended camping trips where I did live off the land usually about 3 months in length, so yeah I wish I could do that again.
I can't wait to go again. Me and Friend are going in couple months for a 2-6 month camping trip in San Isabel National Forest. Going to be a great trip.
Last time I was up in San Isabel was at the lake and I was around maybe 9 or so...? Guess things more than likely have changed since then ( 50 years!) Wish I could have been more help!
Area we go to is about 5 miles past Cottonwood Lake. Nice and quiet with no human interference! Got a few animals that liked to hang around camp which was cool. Not cool was seeing Mountain Lion looking over edge of cliff at camp last morning there.Had nothing but A2 on me at the time.
