Picked up a Fox 20 gauge side by side yesterday at the Gun Show. Was chasing a fellow with n Auto-five Browning marked $350.00 but he sold it to a dealer for $200.00 before I caught up with him. He gave me 53 rounds of double-0 buckshot for free since he had sold his gun.

Bought This Week For Food Storage

I do not have a large amount of money to spend on my food plan so I have to go slowly but I make progress every week.

10 bottles Dawn dishwashing liquid (Walgreens)
6 boxes baking soda (Walgreens) - have enough now
2 large jars peanut butter (Sam's)
4 boxes iodized salt - have enough now
2 large containers coffee creamer (Sams)
2 large tubes toothpaste (99 cents - Walgreens)
1 large box (1200 packets) of Splenda (Sams)
    5 large cans chicken
ordering 4 #10 cans corn this month.

I think you did great!!! Those 5 large cans of chicken are expensive. I'd really like to buy more of those myself. The only reason why I've got extra money to spend is because I non-renewed our magazine subscriptions, canceled almost everything off our cable tv except the basic package that included the History and Science channels, then canceled our newspapers. Next I got rid of our 2nd land line to the house. I got fed up paying the bills. Something else I did that was a total sleeper was I switched from double ply TP to single ply toilet paper. Wow and double wow. Nobody even noticed I did that and.... we're going through half the rolls of toilet paper in a week we used to. I also stopped buying kleenex. We're just using rolls of toilet paper set out. Another thing I started doing was buying more generic and store brands. Most taste the exact same as name brands and nobody noticed I'd started using generics. One generic organic brand of ketchup tasted better than what we used to buy. Go figure. Weird little things that saved a bundle but that TP was a shocker. I guess we just roll off a set amount regardless of whether its cushy 2-ply or not-so-cushy 1-ply subconsciously.

Ok, I have always bought generic foods, but I have noticed lately they are tasting super bland, the can milk for instance.
we have always bought scott Tissue, it goes darn far for us. I got my magazines from ebay, the subscriptions there were awesome. and I have ever tv channel known out there, but again Im up all night watching them and then when its time to rise and shine Im exausted. we get up at 6:30 am here 7 days aweek. dang kids make me get up on the weekends with there fighting and crap. boys LOL
This week I decided no more generic foods, I just do not trust that white packaging any more. Im gleaning well and found 3 cans of veggies on sale for 1.oo ( green giant) and I have done well with finding stuff that works wonderful and cheap. but again my taxes came so I did well. now that its gone Im back to bi weekly checks and gleaning.
I was supposed to get a child adoption tax credit this year, and it was a whopper, but I did not get it and only got the same amount I have gotten for the last several years. My prayer is that it comes in 2 parts. God is so good to me I know all my needs are met so I never fret.
I feel better I got the ordering out of the way, and 4 months worth the dog foods and meds, Im glad I got more rice and beans and tomorrow Im off to get my bucket of wheat for 37.00
Im going to just slowly work off my lists now and try my best but not fret. I am bossy, but ned to really leave it in Gods hands or I worry and thats not good. I was thrilled I found that generator, it will be a blessing when I need chargings, I was thinking of a solar charger to, but the generator is even better. I can charge mass amounts of my batterys with that thing to.
I have not found the chicken in a can, maybe costco"s ? I loved them but have not seen them in years. I gave mom 200.00 to start gleaning to, I told her it was time to stop buying crap and work at food for her own house in case I could not get there. the wood for her was also a help as I know there old and can not go get it and my brothers are to big a poops to do anything for any one.
My mom is my best friend, I love her and feel sorry she is in such great pain. some times I worry she will be leaving this earth, she has come close 2 times in the last few years. Her and I spendd every day together, she really is my buddy and we are so close. I just get frustrated at times as she does not shop well and buys so much junk. then its every where and she tends to hoard crap.
but again, I am so glad she is my mom. She is loving and kind and like me a helper folks.

I carefully packed and put away all of my: HOPES.
The possibility of getting enough people together at one time, with a large truck ( 28 footer) to move all I have acquired, and 3 vehicles, up to my retreat 150 miles north of me, has become an improbability. So much to do, and who knows how much time? If you consider the following:
I have a 10 x 15 x 9 ft high, climate controlled storage locker, filled to the ceiling, up to the rollup door, PLUS: 2- 12 x 60 mobile homes and a patio area that is another 10 x 40 full of packed assorted supplies....
    It's a nightmare in logistics....and I don't do logistics...can you tell?
The newset dilemna is that the plastic totes we paid $22 each for ,are now collapsing/breaking from being stacked so high with so much weight!
    Sheesh!

Don't ever put away hope! :)

ACE hardware (have those in your area?) has storage totes 3/$12. Not the huge ones, but the manageable ones (18G) though month's end.

Be very careful about weight distribution and height of your stacks.

I definitely have to improve my weight distribution and my stack may too high for some. LOL
Went to a resale shop and I found 4 new Woolrich olive green tactical pants that un-zip to make shorts, all for $14.00, and a pair of Rocky Wildcat boots with Thinsulate in Camo for $12.00
Then Cabelas had four pair of Wool / Cotton socks for $10.00, grabbed 8 pair. Then, at my local FFL, I found a partial box of [91] 52 gr Speer HP's for 8.99, and got 300 rounds of MiniMags and 200 rounds of Velocitors. I caught a clearance at Academy they had Camo shave bags for .88 ea and got four of them. They make great med kits / food storage bags for my BOB's. I found some more Ozarka 3 liter water on sale for a $1.00 ea. Got 20 of them.

Falcon is the name, logistics is the game. Rent two (2) 26 foot box truck (Uhaul or some such) and three (3) tow-behind trailers (one way) and get two (2) friends, 1 with a truck (with a ball hitch) and 1 without. Load out the storage facility into one (1) rental truck. Load out as much of the two homes that you can load out into the remaining space. Load truck #2. Attach tow behind #1 & 2 to the Uhauls and load car #1 & 2. Load out any small remaining stuff into the friend's truck (tarp friends truck). Attach tow-behind to friend's truck, load car #3. Load ALL vehicles 1, 2, & 3 with as much as humanly possible. You and friend drive u-hauls, and Friend 1 drives truck with tow behind. Unload everything at retreat. Return all rental vehicles, friends drive back home in the truck. Done.
