"forgot to add I spent 118.00 on emergency essentials canned foods." Bravo!!! Good for you and way to go on scoring free rain barrels!! Maybe stick that pancake mix in the freezer for a week or so before you stash it away. Same thing goes for pasta I've learned.

Or set them outside on the ground for a week...since we all mostly live in winter wonderland with this "global warming" spell. =P

CANDY> he's right. No sense stuffing your freezer. Outdoors will work too as long as the temps are around 5°F I think is what I read. Ohhh... second thought....maybe don't do that if raccoons or opossums visit you.... they'll dig in and dine high on the hog at your expense. They'll think you're the nummies goddess.

Good idea! I forgot that freezing the food will insure its going to be empty of bugs! Thanks I will do that . I washed buckets like crazy, will be putting them out side for a week to get the rest of the smell out of them. I figure the 20 below temps will help with that LOL.
10 dollars for the 55 gallon barrels is a steal, with five in my basement and a rain barrel out side I should have plenty of water. I also have the 4 gallon barrels and 15 cases of 24 water bottles so far.. next week will be hauling in another 15 cases of 24 bottles each, and the next week 15 more. I plant to fill my basement full LOL

The little ones are helping me do the mylar bags, we are getting pretty good at sucking the air out with the vacuum cleaner and ironing the mylar closed LOL.

Picked up a couple of rifles in 5.45x39 and two spam cans of ammo. Also bought two spam cans of 8mm, 7.62x39, and ten bricks of .22 LR. Got eight more pounds of Winchester 231 and 16 pounds of Vita Vouri N105, ten thousand Federal small pistol primers (only thing my competition revolver will shoot). Gave a friend one of my 1911s so I ordered another frame and a damascus slide from Caspian. WHen I finish that build, it will have a set of mastadon grips and a croc holster from El Paso Saddlery. Recentlly bought an 8mm barrel for my 1919A4 beltfed and a pair of 98K Mauser rifles. Got my dies in for my .375 H&H Magnum. Finished building a new .40 STI Limited gun and a STI Open gun (4.5") for steel competition. Bought a half dozen 30 round mags for the AK74 from Tapco.
I do a lot of recreational shooting.

Forgot to mention that I picked up a Garand and two more M1 carbines at CMP a little while back and just got two spam cans of ammo in for each and a dozen more Korean 30 rd. mags for the carbines. The .30-06 is in enblocs. and I just ordered two more spam cans of 7.62x39 from Aim. I'm getting on a first name basis with them. Ordered 10K of new Starline .38 Super brass and 10K 124 gr. FMJ .357 bullets from Delta Presision. I try to get all my match ammo in before the season really kicks off. The only thing that I am short on now is 20 gauge ammo for my Saiga and I sure wish they would start making more hi-cap magazines for it. The 13 rounders that Mississippi Arms is selling are pretty cheesy.

I've been putting away PMs the last few weeks...... as in lead.

I've come across several guys selling their casting supplies on the cheap. It's something I wanted to start for my .44s and .357s anyways.... I now have enough lead to cast a heap of bullets.

Wahoo first time i am prepping..

So i finally had an opportunity to buy some preps. I live in the country and have a small farm but no way to process the foods effectivly. This week I bought a Grain Mill and a Butter Churn (both hand crank). Also bought some books on saving seeds for the next year ect. Hoping to pick up 100lbs of rice this weekend.

We have been saving the lead wheel weighs for years when my father had a tire shop. If somthing happens and you need more there will be thousands of pounds of battery and wheel weight lead just waiting around.

Check in over at the handloader's bench, there are quite a few guys casting and will get you on the right path, if you aren't already. There's a direct link on our forum main page.

Picked up an FS 92 Beretta today, There is a gun show tomorrow in Pensacola, guess I'll go. It seems like the gun collection is taking some leaps and bounds. We bought a Argentine Colt 1911 last week and a 1902 .38 Auto Colt. The Wannamacher Show is coming up in Tulsa ad we will probably buy a Colt/Sauer Drillin there. This guy has been teasing me with it for a couple of years now; its .30-06 under 12 gauge and they didn't make many of those. He's asking $4200.00 down from 5K last year. I'm gonna offer $3500.00. When I die, my wife is gonna have a bitching time figuring out how to get rid of all these guns.

Take a bunch of them with you, along with some ammo and reloading dies. Lube them and bag them so your corpse doesn't effect them. It will make a great cache for your surviving friends or relatives.

Now there's an idea. We actually have a cache in an otherwise empty grave in an undisclosed location.

So I will list my stuff here now that I actually have stuff to post about. Albeit it's limited. Two coleman sleeping bags. Three cases of MREs. A Charles Daly tactical 12. A Benelli Nova 20. A Marlin 22. A Marlin 30-30. A Daisy pellet rifle. A katana. And about 50 rounds for each gun. I have a compound bow also. So I have a lot to work on.

Bring one (or more) of your bang sticks with you when you come to PA. If you aren't too far from here, we can get some range time in when you get liberty. You can't swing a dead cat in PA without hitting a range, so even if you aren't in the NE corner, you can still get in range time.
