EU to Hungary: Don't let toxic sludge hit Danube - CenturyLink™ Bane, looks like it's your area in the crosshairs of a disaster this time. I sure hope they can get it contained before it hits the big river and spreads!
We keep forgetting just how big the Eastern European area is........ But then, so is the Gulf Coast here.......
Maybe they could bottle and export it to say: N. Korea? That's a helluva mess and it's not looking good! M wonder is, why is there so damn much, and why wasn't it contained in a better way than just a dam? Seems to em that IF you get a heck of a rain, you'd have had the same thing one way or another...Some engineer was not paying attention.....?
Heard the news this AM saying it had reached the Danube, but they said folks there got it 'diluted' so "no problem!" Hmmm..... methinks they have the same PR guys that BP uses......
yup they will say anything right now, heavy metal in water not music..lol kills and or makes you ill .
So far, no dead fish has been reported in Serbia, and environmental crews are camping along the river banks and take samples every hour...Danube is huge and has huge volume of water, so it is highly probable that the quantities of sludge getting into Danube are diluted beyond danger... If any problems appear, it can't be hidden for a second! Danube is filled with boat restaurants, private boats, fishermen, people on picnics on the banks, etc... If there was a problem, I'd know straight away from Serbian news channels or friends and relatives...
Good to know. I just pray that the sludge does indeed disperse to non-toxic levels or gets cleaned up quickly. Oh, wait...I know...Gore and the Greenies are going to have a field day with this one."Never let a good disaster go to waste". I wonder what ol' NObama the knucklehead will say about this. It should be entertaining.
bobo the blunderboy will just claim it's George Bush's fault....... probably offer Hungary a few billion obama-bucks in a "Stimulus"........
