Finally got around to watching the vid. Interesting choice of music to go with scenery; I've seen similar in Hartford, Newark, Baltimore and Tangier. Adds up to more of the reasons I'm where I am. Cities tend to boom and bust, and it's depressing. Beehives of activity, then dead.
The last one, is a rela "fixer-upper" and won't last long at those prices! What WE used to call a 'fire sale'! I have seen the same in rural areas lately. All depressing.

Why not try to reinvent detroit and diversify the industries that work there. All I ever hear on the news is detroit synonymous with the auto industry. It's like they float over the same waves. They need to find other sources of revenue generation for their city. In comparison, the silicon valley reinvents itself following any disruptive changes in technology. From there everyone jumps on the bandwagon, why not detroit as well?
hell those aren't abandoned! there are plenty of individuals (homeless, out of work, drug addicts and booze aholics, not to mention drug dealers and prostitutes) living in there. Where else could you live for free off the land and not have to worry about the man being able to find you. sure it's not an easy existence but better than nothing. actually detroit is pretty much decimated. it has been in decline for years and years. I go to the Detroit Institute of Arts every year. and it keeps getting worse. someday maybe nature will take it all back. Oh wait, I saw trees growing through the windows of the Packard Plant on Woodward. economy pretty much sucks around here. The new status symbol here is not gold chains, 22 inch rims with spinners, It's a freaking Job! as to why detroit is not reinventing themselves. Michigan is not a business friendly state. High taxes, Infrastructure is crumbling around us (roads,bridges,telecom). we are trying to jump start the green industry (solar,wind,battery) but it's hard to convince companies to come in when we are competing globally and with states that are way more business friendly like MS,TN,SC and AL.

well, free from the man being able to find you in most cases. I own property and my name is on this great big list of other property owners. there is a little over 450k parcels in my county (yes i actually have the list). so i am not anonymous nor invisible. Yeah, and i guess you are right, i've never heard of a free prostitute.
