Picked up one of these today at the Gunshow and believe I will like it alot. The blade is heavy and feels solid. The edge is razor. I found the scales a little slippery for my touch so I cut out some adhesive backed strips of skate-board grip to roughen that up a bit. I bought the 10" but may go back and get the 18 and 24" as well. I like them that much.
I have 3 of them...2 machetes and one knife...not the san mai, but the black one kukri knife...I don't have the magnum machete...yet... So far, they're worth much more than the price is!
I have the Cold Steel Kurki too. It is a decent tool but the quality of the one I just picked up is far surperior to any other machete that I have ever found. My next aquisition from Cold Steel will be their spears.
Paid $25.00 for the 10" blade, the 18" was $30.00 and the 24" was $35.00. They are made from stainless and are very sharp and well balanced. I probably have a dozen or more machete but these are by far, the best ones I have ever found. I just wish the sheath was a bit heavier-duty.
