Living in the desert southwest you'd never think you'd have problems with high humidity...Well, that changed! It's a disaster for firearms stored in cases, in the closet! RUST city! I went to make some soup and needed to add salt... NOPE! The Salt shaker was a solid BLOB of yukk! I went to write down a phone numer in my loose leaf notebook.... I thought the pen was out of ink, so I got another one... it didn't work either, then I felt the paper! Yeehaw! It was damp ernough to stick to my fingers! We rarely get more than 20 percent humidity here. but we recently had 48 and 50 percent levels...Maybe I'll just go out and buy a scuba outfit! Pencils won't work, maybe those dry erase markers will last longer? I'm thinking the new crayola "wet" markers!
Oh yukkkkk! Tried some crackers...soggy! I grabbed a bag of chips...uh no! Rubber, worse than those wet dehydrated banana chips!
LOL .... welcome to my world. 40 to 50 percent is nothing. Why do you think we have so many mosquitos the size of fighter jets. In our rainy season, the alligators need no water, they just swim thru the air. Honest, would I lie?
Louisiana's state bird? Look like buzzards! Luckily we haven't had the west nile virus so bad yet this year, but there's a new one now...can't recall off hand, but it's a nasty too! Having a slow brain day! CRS= can't remember stuff!
Yup, got that and eastern equine encephalitis, and the other day I heard something about two cases of dengue fever....?
Yup that's what we have now! Dengue fever, 4 varities from what the local news stated...I love this! Importing all kinds of wonderfully new and exciting diseases! I just saw on the news there's an "occurence" (NOT an outbreak mind you) of Bubonic plague 'somewhere'....Think I'll work on a large plastic bubble!
ah, humidity!! Welcome to my world. Temp today is supposed to be 105*, and a high heat index. From the nat'l weather service: * HEAT INDEX READINGS WILL CLIMB TO AROUND 115 DEGREES TODAY AND WEDNESDAY. SOME HEAT INDEX READINGS MAY APPROACH 120 DEGREES... ESPECIALLY NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. SIMILAR CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE THURSDAY. UGH, not FUN!!
Good grief! I have seen it hit 124 here, but there was NO humidity, and we sat outside praying for a breeze! I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like with the higher temps, coupled with any humidity... I'm suffering here and it's around 84 degrees here now with 51% humidity! YIKES!!! MOMMA!
84* and 51% humidity? I'll take it!! LOL. Heck, I moved to Memphis from MN, where I was used to the cold winters.
It's 35C here...95F...it's still OK...it usually hits 45C..115F in summer. And media NEVER shows above 39C...If it hits 40C it's considered as hazard and no one works, everything is closed... lol
Pshh, Europeans Yeah guys, 130-140 in the Middle East is terrible, but so is 100 with 85% humidity in PA. I can't stand it here!!! Nah, you just have to adapt and do the best you can.
Temp this fine Florida Wednesday morning is in the low 80's, but the humidity is dripping! My van's defogger couldn't keep up - I was running the wipers on the way in! I washed my hair in the shower (thank goodness I inherited Mom's hair - Dad has been bald for decades!) - now two hours later - still damp! A couple co-workers each have English friends/family that visit occasionally. They learned quickly to visit in the winter! The first time they experienced our 90's temps and high humidity it nearly killed them!
Yep. Miserable...... Everyone teases me about not being able to handle a Northern Winter....I'd like to see them last a month down here in Summer...lol! Had a girlfriend from Maine visit ONCE...she only went outdoors one time, and stayed in the house other than to go to the pool the whole 2 weeks...couldn't take the heat & humidity..... This summer has been brutal so far...only about 7 weeks left!
70s and 15% here. 53 in the morning and 89 at peak sun In Tennessee, you could spill a glass of water on the first day of summer and the puddle would still be there come Fall.
