When I was in Texas at Bliss, and at White Sands for a time, I thought there was another type of "deer" similar to the Axis, known as Oryx. It is exotic, brought from Africa or something, and has to be hunted only with special permit, and only one per lifetime. I don't know how true it is, but that's what I heard from the local soldiers anyway. There is also the Addax and the Sika Deer. Cool stuff though.
Tango, she will learn a painful lesson in what 'road rash' is all about one day when Homey pops a wheelie......... [rofllmao]
Thanks Tango, now my eyes feel as though I spent the day welding without a helmet. Oryx and other exotics have no limit, nor season in Texas. There are many different species if exotics including fallow deer ( I have one shoulder mounted on the wall), Nilgai, mouflon sheep, Corsican rams, Oryx, Kudu, blackbuck antelope (had one of those mounted as well), and others. When my grandfather was in his 80's he was walking down a draw (canyon) when he came across a kudu or a nylan. He was afraid it would try breed some of his livestock ( hey he was in his 80's by this time and Alzhiemers bad probably already set in) so he shot it with his .270. He horns are still mounted on the wall of his barn. If he would have only known the thing was worth thousands to a hunter, he would have defended it with his life. The hill country of Texas is covered with exotics, I have been fortunate enough to have taken quite a few.
Look! I know it ain't the cow : Moses... But, I see a BAT symbol between them horns! Batman reincarnated? Bat Buck? Ok, I'll quit now!
