I have to get a barrel pin, but otherwise she is ready for test fire, tweaks, and refinish. I hope you like it...my fingers are numb. I haven't done this in a while, lol.
WOW!!!!!!!! Beautiful work. I cannot wait to it. I think the AMD has to rank up there as the coolest of the AKs. Outstanding work Mags. I owe you big time bro! I was telling someone about you smashing rivets with a set of vice-grips before you got the rivet smasher, and he wondered if you were still playing pro-ball. Incredible work. Absolutely frickin' awesome. Looks like I have a new favorite.
That is a really nice looking place you have there. It is easy to tell that your little one is not of walking age yet, no marker drawings on the bottom of the walls.
Good for dis-orienting the zombies. That is what ear plugs are for. Like I can hear that well anyway. What'd ya say?
It isn't so much the noise...but the pressure wave. The only thing I can compare it to is the .300WM headache.
Too bad the muzzle brake holes are not oriented to blow the blast forward, like a Barrett 50 BMG brake.
Home made Lathe... Black and Decker cordless drill and dremel and some calipers. But I got it done and it is in now
Honest to goodness you really can't beat this deal. From what I have heard around an AMD kit is minimum $350 with original barrel, then $100 receiver (long wait), compliance parts $50-60, so you might save $50 by building it yourself. So really a kit build would cost more than that rifle. Now after some searching this is what I came up with: Kit from Copes with original barrel $399.00 Kit minus Barrel $199.00 (16" US barrel non chrome lined $99) Must press all parts on the barrel, drill holes, mucho work, exacting work. That is the deal I was talking about not being able to beat. This is what happens when you post tired.
the amd65 is what i have been working on. mine wont have the folding stock due to some parts issues, but it should be a blast. i hope to get to work on it this weekend but we sill see what the texas weather shows me. nice job on the build.
Coming from the Master that is a true compliment. Undeserved, but a true compliment. Here is some more eye candy for EL.
