We migrated from a VPS to a dedicated server about a year ago and tonight we're performing a test migration to a bigger, better, faster server. If all goes well, we'll shut the site down tomorrow (Saturday 12/17) for a couple of hours and finalize things. You may experience some slow downs tonight as we copy files back and forth. When we go live on the new machine tomorrow, the forums will be closed for a couple of hours. Thanks and I'll update this thread as we go.
Thanks for the red alert, Melbo! I would have been calling my computer some nasty names, lol. And I'd like to add my voice to those saying Thank You for all you do for the site.....
So far I haven't encountered any problems. Please report any 403 or 500 errors. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The only question I have is: Your new Avitar.... Is that YOU in the Mountain Man Outfit, or is that someone else... Inquiring Minds, want to know..... Oh Yea, so far so good... Way Good....
Or you're 3 sheets to the wind. From my tests, this is what I've wanted out of a server for a long time. fast response at low/no load. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I guess it's to late to bring this up now... but I always use 1&1 for my web server... it's not cheap... just under $130 a month but you do get a lot for the money... http://order.1and1.com/ServerPremiu...__lf=Static&__sendingdata=1&preselect=managed
We've been with Real Web Host since 2005. With the level of service we've received over the years, I can't imagine us ever hosting elsewhere. Our current server costs significantly more than $130.
