What is a monkey anyways? How do I know that I will fit in? Well, in my eyes, a Monkey is someone that is willing to do what is necessary to take care of themselves, their families and those close to them. A monkey is someone that is greatly patriotic and knows what the true meaning of Freedom is. A monkey is someone that realizes where things have gone wrong and are trying to help it back on course, though at the same time preparing for rough times. A monkey is about learning to be self-sufficient, learning to do things that you have never done and learning how to deal with those that aren't monkeys. A monkey can be counted on to give you the shirt off their back if you are in need. A monkey stands ready with words of encouragement, sympathy and wisdom. A monkey has their beliefs and never go back on them. They stand proud of who they are and woe be those who upset them. A monkey is strength tempered with kindness. A monkey is loyalty tempered with a moral backbone. A monkey is someone that doesn't blindly follow the masses, but rather would strike out in a new trail altogether. And let's not forget, a monkey is a slight bit off. Haha. This is just some of what it means to be a Monkey. So if you are worried that you won't fit in, just ask yourself if most of that speaks about you. If so, then you are indeed a monkey. Just had a thought to do this, so I did it. You can add if you want and when it's finished, we can put it into a solid post. Call it, 'Am I crazy enough to be a monkey?' Haha.
Just adding my usual highly signifigcant input... Sounds like a hallmark card tailor..." "strength tempered with compaassion": "high intensity gardening flavored with ball powder" " moa turd throwing and caches of freeze dried bananas" don't get me started...
I hold morals, ethics, trust and respect over everything else. We 'monkeys' have traveled over hundreds of miles to spend a day at a Katrina blown church in Mississippi. We recently bought a washing machine for an old lady in distress - I could list 20 other philanthropic projects that us monkeys has been involved in this past year. So, for me, a 'Monkey" is the guy/gal you want to see when the SHTF. We are already recognized in our communities as people that are willing to help with stuff, cash, or work. The typical stereotype survivalist is hiding in his hole, a monkey is the one bringing that guy a glass of water.
Survival monkeys are ones who share Knowledge and training and how to prepare. They share thoughts and ideas with one another Like friend to friend; brother to brother. They laugh and they joke and they may kid around But on serious subjects; there's knowledge abound. They learn from each other and each one injects What you might want to gather, might need to collect. For in times of chaos, in times of great need You'll want to have knowledge of how to proceed. The time to ask questions is when life is good Not when all hell breaks loose in your neighborhood. The knowledge you'll find here will help you along When those who depend on you need you to be strong. Everything's talked about, no subject's too small Each input has insight that might save us all. So come, be a Monkey, please learn all you can So you'll know what to do when the crud hits the fan.
